  1. Turns out the throat thing was fluke. It was nothing. I have HSV 2 so not oral.
  2. This is literally my problem currently. Had my first outbreak almost a month ago. Healed up. Had a second outbreak 3 weeks after that with only one tiny blister that went away after 3 days. Now the itching is unbearable. The only thing that subsided it is Epsom salt baths but I can’t live in the tub every day. Night is also the worst and I scratch in my sleep and don’t realize it.
  3. Because I hadn’t had sex in a year and a half, then had sex and two days later had my first outbreak. Experienced everything one is supposed to during a first outbreak. Could have been a walking text book version. I was at the doctors that day for her to look at the blisters and she sent me for immediate blood work. The swab came back positive, the serum came back positive and the levels were showing I have had HSV 2 for over 4 weeks which doesn’t add up considering the guy I slept with happened 48 hours prior only. So I was informed I was a carrier and it’s just coming out now. Something triggered it and my guess is going from no sexual contact to sexual contact.
  4. Thanks for your input! I was confirmed yesterday that I only have HSV 2 and no HSV 1 which I’m surprised with considering something like a ridiculous high number has 1. I also found out I was a carrier and I’ve had it for awhile but my first outbreak only just occurred this month. I’m now experiencing my second outbreak 3 weeks post diagnosis. I also have nerve damage from the severity of my first outbreak. It is awful! I constantly feel sun burnt everywhere and I haven’t even gone into the sun. I am constantly itchy everywhere (and I mean everywhere!). It’s all the symptoms of a sunburn minus the actual rash/burn itself. I’m now on nerve blocking meds to try and subside it but the moment I go off them it comes back. If I get 4 more break outs in the next 12 months I’ll be on permanent suppression meds which I am hopin I don’t need.
  5. Literally exactly what I am experiencing right now! 3 weeks and 5 days ago I had my initial outbreak. Took the meds. Finished them. Everything was constantly itchy even after it was confirmed everything was healed up. 3 days ago I felt comfortable enough to wear underwear. Today I just noticed a bump on my labia and it’s painful! I seriously cannot go through this again it was the worst pain of my life next to labour.
  6. I am 3 weeks and 5 days since having my initial first genital herpes outbreak (HSV 2). 3 days ago I felt good enough to start wearing underwear again. Now today I am showering and feel something down there. A bump. I also aggrivated it I think by touching it. I jumped out of the shower and pulled up to my mirror to look and sure enough there is a bump on my labia but it also has a pin head red dot in the middle of it. Could this be a second outbreak? It hurts now. There isn’t any other sign of anything else but now I’m freaking out. My first outbreak was so bad I missed over a week of work and couldn’t even move. :(
  7. Thank you for that advice. I am a walking herbal pharmacy right now lol. I’m taking majority of that. I couldn’t put anything on it at all besides baby powder. This included aloe Vera... the plant. Everything burnt. I’m now on day 11 and finished my pills. The sores are gone but you can still see where they were. I also found out I have nerve damage because of how severe it was. I missed a week of work which isn’t good. My doctor will not put me on suppression therapy though. Here where I live they will only put you on it if you get outbreaks once a month of 4-5 times a year. Which sucks because now I’m stressing of when I’ll have my next outbreak. I’m not worried about telling people. To me if they won’t be with me because of it that’s cool. I respect their decision. Missing exercise is a huge thing for me. I haven’t been able to work out the entire time and I’ve gained 7 lbs. I eat extremely well and always have. Not into sugars or chocolate so I don’t think that can trigger it.
  8. I got my first outbreak 9-10 days ago and while I have since healed it still feels like I have something happening. The chaffing feeling is still there no matter what I put. Walking or running makes it worse. I really want to go to the gym or go for a run but can’t seem to take the feeling. How long until you were back to regular routine?
  9. Had similar but mine didn’t smell. Mine also came after the blisters burst.
  10. Thank you. Not to dwell on one comment but just because someone else has it worse off than I do doesn’t mean that doesn’t give me a reason to not be upset. I am upset. I also have stage 1 cervical cancer as well so I seem to be having some sort of bad luck all in that region down there. Perhaps I should have been a nun lol. The only reason why I referred to it as “the bad one” is because I have seen about 10 different threads on this particular site where that’s what people seem to refer to it as. What bothers me a lot is the interruption and granted this was my initial OB it interrupted my life in more ways than one. I was unable to work for an entire week, wasn’t able to have my child (I’m a single mom) because I couldn’t handle the pain, I missed an important event in my sons life, I wasn’t able to go to a couple things which ironically this was the most busiest week over the next 6 months of my life. It was just a nuisance. That and combined with my other treatment it’s just been a life changer for me.
  11. I don’t know why I was hoping for HSV 1. Maybe because I’ve gone through tons of posts on this forum where people are quoting HSV 2 as “the bad one” but I want to curl up into a ball and just cry. Any sort of comfort or advice is really needed right now. I’m a wreck....
  12. So I’m 7 days into my first outbreak. I find the only thing that makes me feel better is epsom salt baths and baby powder. Everything else topical just burns the crap out of it. My doctor said it is one of the most severe cases she has ever seen to make it worse. I was yesterday to see her on day 6 and was diagnosed on day 2. See here is what bothers me- I only had two sores on my labia that have since healed but I keep getting numerous by the anus. Which of course I’ve never done anything anal sex wise or really anything physically in that area. Today I woke up to two new sores and one massive blister there. I mean massive. Probably the size of a dime! When I asked my doctor what the heck was going on she said said it was like a “kissing virus” in that one side will get the sores and then the other side will be infected because it touches automatically. I asked if she knew when this would end and she’s estimating probably another 5 days but each day a new blister starts I can tack on another 5 days. Honestly the pain has gone away and it feels more like an annoying chaffing between my butt. Besides taking the antivirals and lysine, is there anything else that I could possibly be doing to make this go along faster with healing? I really miss working out and I’ve been told not to until it is clearly gone. I’ve gained 5 lbs even though I’m only eating healthy! I’m taking baths 2-3 x a day which does wonders clearly for my vagina seeing as they are all gone and healed up but my butt just keeps getting them. I’m so frustrated.
  13. I’m on the antiviral but I was just given a nerve blocker yesterday.
  14. I asked my doctor about sex and she says if you have lesions in your vagina those can take weeks, if not months to heal. They might not be healed yet.
  15. I agree with you. I feel so dirty and disgusted with myself meanwhile the guy I caught it from is a carrier and displays no symptoms. So he continues looking great and having sex and I feel like I’m having to hide under the blankets for the rest of my life. I live in Canada and while we have universal coverage (somewhat) you need to push doctors for every single thing. Our sex education is awful! When I found out the first thing I said to my doctor was “but we used a condom and I got the gardasil shot!”. Gardasil doesn’t protect against herpes at all only 4 strains of the 100’s of types of warts. Condoms don’t protect either! While it protects the shaft, if they broke out on another area guess what? SOL. Oh and hey, they could also have it in their throat and not know it either so better not kiss them. Seriously I am so angry and literally blind sided by this “illness”. He had NOTHING on him. Clean shaven downstairs and everything. Absolutely nothing on his mouth. When I asked when he last had an STD test he said a week after he slept with the girl before he slept with me. Of course I assumed that means EVERYTHING but hey, HIV, HSV, syphillis are all separate tests that specifically need to be requested here where I live and even then the doctors won’t normally do them unless they themselves suspect something. Wtf. This should be standard yearly!
