  1. Hi @Elle27 I have the same thing in both locations and nothing works for me either. I can tell you that I am approaching 2 years (April) and things settled down extremely at the 1.5 year mark. The only down side is that I started seeing hair loss at 8 months. All doctors that you mentioned I’ve been too with no help in all categories. I feel the healthcare community doesn’t understand the virus completely. I can tell you what helped was an acupuncturest and it reduced my inflammation. I wasn’t a fan to check them out, but I did get much needed relief.
  2. @Michgirl73 wow, how long were you on them for? How long have you been off of them? I have herpes both ohsv2 and ghsv2 but haven’t been on antivirals. Been losing my hair and it’s hasn’t stopped! All tests came back normal. I’m worried that it will be permanent. I’m very upset more so about the hair than hsv.
  3. @Amando I am trying to hear from those who suffered hair loss and recovered from it off of the antivirals. I hear about people losing hair, but no one is mentioning whether it has stopped and filled back in. i am trying to find personal experiences with its use.
  4. @whitedaisies did your hair grow back after switching antivirals?
  5. @Feelingblue did u stop antivirals? If so, has your hair grow back? Trying to find some answers to the hair loss and if people are experiencing regrowth.
  6. @Michgirl73 @Jemjem how much hair did you lose while on antivirals? Is it diffuse hair thinning or specific spots? Are you off the antivirls?
  7. What bothers me is people say that once you have hsv2 orally it barely reoccurs, which is not the case. at one point i has severe TMJ. Watch your gums and makes sure you don’t have gingervitis. Intraoral herpes can cause it.
  8. Hi @elle27 not sure if that is what I experienced with oral hsv2. I did have gag reflexes and almost vomited several times. My throat constantly killed! I had a blood blister on the inside of my cheek, white tongue and I had what appears like teeth marks on the sides of my tongue. I never had sores outside of my mouth only inside ulcers that looked like canker sores and I had clusters at the roof of my mouth. now I notice a few red dots in a row on my gums. Looks like the size of a pin prick.
  9. Thank you all for chiming in! I'm not on antivirals, but I do have both ohsv2 and ghsv2, which is probably effecting my immunity, which is causing my hair loss. Has anyone reported hair regrowth?
  10. Who else is balding from having oral and genital hsv2? Don’t say it’s not the disease because I had a full head of hair before I caught this awful disease.
  11. That is exactly how mine turned out for Ohsv2; except I also noticed a blood blister on the inside of my cheek and some red dots along my gum line. I also felt like I had TMJ 8 months later along with massive hair thinning. please keep me posted! What area do you live in? Would like to see your doctor, but I’m sure it’s a long shot. Feel free to DM me.
  12. @Elle27 I am so sorry you are going through this, but it sounds like you have a great man on your hands. How do you know that you are going through both ohsv2 and ghsv2? I have been dealing with both for 1.5 years. I feel like my immune system can’t get a hold of this virus. Can you tell me a little bit about you iV treatments? I’m very curious.
  13. @Loyalloulou yes, I got tested via swab at cervix and via anus, but came back negative. When I went in at first the doctor said I was very yeasty down there and she swabbed for yeast only and it was negative. She never swabbed for HSV during that time that I asked her to do. Doctors confuse yeast infections and HSV all the time.
  14. @beckham I’m surprised the Dr. prescribed Valtrex to you when you are testing negative. How did you score meds?
  15. I’m just responding to hear any new stories that people would like to write on hair loss and HSV2 connection.
  16. @UnluckyMan @New2GH yes, so thankful that the burning finally stopped. Yes, I heard about the percentages of negative IGG and I probably fall in that category. Actually, my obgyn was like you have a bad yeast infection, swabbed me for yeast at what was my original OB. It came back negative as well. I am such a healthy person and never had anything wrong with me before. Never had a UTI or yeast infection, etc. They swabbed me before several times and all negative for herpes. They could’ve also swabbed me late. One doctor said it was a anal fissure when my tests came back negative. Also since all this, I have had sever vitamin d deficiency and low ferritin levels, which can cause hair loss. i want to get a western blot to figure this all out. Just need to make time for it and order everything online.
  17. @ice2423 I was potentially exposed 1.5 years ago.
  18. @UnluckyMan I’m a woman and had burning less than 6 hours later and lasted over a year. It finally stopped! I have tested IGG negative at 8 months and 10 months. I’m losing hair and have hives in the groin/thigh area on occasion which is STD related. All doctors shrug me off as well saying it’s all in my head, which it is not.
  19. @Ice2423 Do you have any symptoms? Did you also test via swab? I am asking this because I have yet to test positive via IGG blood and I have all the symptoms of HSV - hives at groin, nerve pain, flu symptoms and the list goes on! If you are worried, I would get a western blot, which I am planning on doing soon since I had 3 negative IGG blood tests.
  20. I take it no one is responding because they take the positive swab result and never test via IGG? I would like to ask, how many of you know you had herpes since your first outbreak, but tests negative only to infect people while tests are negative. When did your IGG turn up positive?
  21. Hello all, I am wondering if anyone out there is HSV 1 or 2 positive, but keeps on testing negative on IGG blood test?
  22. @browneyedgirl77 I had hives as well, but they will go away with time. I don’t get hives all the time like I used to.
  23. Get a referral to urology if you can. HSV blood tests have a lot of false negatives. I have had 4 of them myself at 6 and 8 months, 1 year. At this point, i am about to do the western blot.
  24. Yes, you can shave and wax on the regular without having an outbreak. The less hair you have down there the better it is on the sores. Your hair either need to be longer or none at all to not feel pain from little hairs hitting the sores. IMHO
