You are almost correct. A doctor at urgent care told me these things all sound like herpes. He was the one who talked me out of getting a swab of the paper cut I had on my penis because he said it did not look like enough material to collect. I have never had paper cuts on my penis, and I've had three painful ones since May. A nurse at the ER looked at photos I have on my phone of the various bumps I have, and she thought some of them looked like herpes. She was also suspicious of the fever blister I had in my mouth.

Some of the swabs were just a hope and a prayer from me that they were spots to yield results. The only spot I’ve had with fluid was the one I didn’t get swabbed bc the doctor talked me out of it. The pimples are white heads. Again, never had them until May, and now I have them. All creams given to me by doctors have not helped with the red itchy bumps on inner thigh and above my penis. If I masterbate, the nerve endings on my inner thigh became extremely red and I can see clusters of red bumps just below my skin. I also have tingling in my urethrea that brings about the constant need to pee. That is also a symptom some people on herpes message boards have. This all can’t be a big coincidence.

I’ve been tested at various months since May. All blood work negative. Swabs are negative, but I never know if those spots are actually swabable or if I’ve done it too late. I have way more odd and painful symptoms that have altered my life and introduced problems I’ve never had before. There are cases of people who never test positive through blood, but do through swab or go months until positive. Despite my negative tests, I have problems that match up with various members of this forum. This all happened after unprotected sex and oral with a girl in May. Girl I slept with said she might have HSV, but didn’t want to tell me that for fear I’d leave. She said she gets pimples on her vagina, which is a symptom for some people with HSV. I now get pimples on my inner thigh and I’ve never ever had that before. There are a list of many other things I’ve never had before, but have had since May. All of the things affecting me are symptoms of HSV and nothing else comes close. There will be people telling you it’s stress or all in your head - that is easy for someone to tell you who isn’t you.

I found you sometimes have to demand it. Any doctor worth their weight should at least test your blood if you have suspicion of HSV. Why not ask for an STD panel and ask it to include HSV tests, because they won’t test for it In a normal STD panel

Never had a cold sore. The white bumps never went away. Dermatologist said it’s Fordyce, but struggled to give me a coherent reason why my lip burns. She also could not explain how my ex-girlfriend developed the same symptom at the same time as me while also recovering from the flu. No bumps on my bottom lip and no pain. Have you tested for HSV? Ask for a typed blood test for HSV 1 and 2. Swabs are more accurate, but sometimes there is nothing for anyone to swab.

I had localized tingling after my flu, but my top lip burns all day. It has small cuts all over it. My bottom lip is 100% normal.

I've had anxiety worse than this, and it did not cause nerve pain, red itchy spots, and cuts on my penis and mouth. If I test positive you can buy my antivirals.

I am having the exact same issue. Chap stick does nothing for me. Eating salty food or citrus makes the sides of my mouth turn red and burn. I also developed tiny white bumps under the skin of my lips after having the flu. Why do you think you have HSV?

Yeah, negative shortly after we were together. Since then, I don't know. It's not a communicative relationship anymore.

I know how this all sounds, but I still have symptoms that persist on areas where herpes thrive. I saw a doctor at Urgent Care who said my symptoms sound herpetic. The eye doctor was alarmed when I told her all the symptoms. She said she has seen cases of eye damage like mine where the symptoms are hard to detect, but it’s herpes. Again, what else causes redness, burning, small cuts and clusters of tiny white bumps on the lips and corners of the mouth? What causes constant irritation and itching in the anus and groin? What causes cuts on the skin of a penis along with redness on the foreskin? What causes nerve irritation? What causes fever blisters in the mouth? What causes pimples in the groin? What causes daily itchy, red bumps on the groin? What else could cause these things to happen at once, after unprotected sex, and after having the flu?

Western Blot, whenever I can get it, and if my values don’t go up when I IgG test.

I’ve been healthy all of my life, so no thoughts like this have ever occurred. I disagree with what you think, as I’ve talked to others like me who had symptoms like these and eventually tested positive. Tomorrow I find out if I need to see a specialist for the eye pain. Again, my Optometrist suspects herpes. I don’t think it would be odd to have herpes in those places. Face and genitals are easy to contract, and who knows, maybe I touched a part of my body that was shedding and then touched my eye or maybe it started spreading to there from the mouth. Some people have only tested positive through swab, assuming they get it swabbed at the right time. The nerve pain and tingling lips definitely match herpes as do the areas I feel itching and find bumps in.

I understand where you are coming from with this. The feelings I have of fatigue, dizziness, fullness in my ears, itchy bum, itchy groin, red itchy scrotum, burning mouth, pain in eyes, nerve pain in hand and foot, and constant cuts on my lips and penis are definitely not in my mind. My body is going through something, and the symptoms I'm having match those felt by people with herpes. Again, all of this happened after unprotected oral and vaginal sex. I want you to be the correct one in this discussion, and if you are, I will tell you.

My levels 5 months later were HSV-1/2 IgG 0.16 HSV 1/2 IgM 0.21

I delayed testing because the girl I thought gave it to me said she was negative. This was before I knew anything about HSV blood testing. My first test was 3 months after initial sexual contact. No values were given other than <.90. I had blood work done again twice at 5 months after initial sexual contact. Only one location gave me values 5 (months), and the others said there were no values to give me.

Some days it feels like it. Until someone has any other ideas, I don't know what else to think it could be. This all happened after I was dating someone for a month who decided to tell me after we had sex/oral that she might have HSV. I asked why she thought that, and she said she gets pimples on her vagina, which I later learned can be symptoms of HSV. Not to mention, another girl I was seeing at a different time later on had the flu when I did, and we both developed white bumps on our lips that burned and tingled. She also had itching in her vagina like the itching I do in my groin. I still get lip tingling and itchy groin to this day. Ishmael, if you think I don't have herpes, than what could be doing this to me?

Update: Negative IGG 5 months after suspected contact. Negative swabs on groin, butt, and on a fever blister in mouth. Despite all of this, I’ve developed nightly mouth bleeding from unknown source. It hurts to breathe deep and feels as if my throat has something painful in it. I still have itchy bumps in my groin, there are small bits of red skin on my penis foreskin, the head of my penis has patches of red, my shaft gets small cuts, my mouth gets small cuts, and my eyes burn and itch. My Optometrist suspects I might have ocular herpes in both eyes. She tested, but did not see the normal herpes results, but says the small bit of damage she could see might be from herpes. She said other patients have had similar problems to me, and they eventually had herpes.

I've been going through the same thing since May 2018. My spots are itchy. Sometimes they come and go within an hour. It all happened after I had sex with someone who wasn't sure if they HSV or not.

No diagnosis of HSV yet, but was with a girl that said she might have it. Daily itching above my penis and my groin. Red, itchy bumps show up for a couple hours or a day or two and then disappear. No matter what is showing down there, I can always feel something itching or tingling. My scrotum turned red, and the sides itch. The skin around the entrance to my anus is red and itchy.

Update: I now have tingling in my left hand and I'm in a constant state of imbalance and slow thinking. I had to go to the ER last week and requested a swab of any area that may or may not have been ideal for it. I asked for IGG bloodwork. I still have itchy, red bumps showing up in my groin on the sides and just above the shaft of my penis. They itch, and when they are not present, my nerves along my groin burn.

I was infected by someone who thought they had it, but was too scared to get tested. They admitted this to me after we were intimate many times. Almost as soon as they told me this, I started having outbreaks that are still unexplained by my doctors to this day. I asked what their supposed symptoms were, and their description led me to believe they have asymptotic symptoms of HSV.

I'm going through the same thing. Blood work negative, and there is never something to swab or biopsy. Nobody can tell me what is happening.
