Hello! I recently went to the doctor for a herpes testing appointment but when I arrived, the nurse practitioner told me I don't need to get tested because she was sure I had herpes based on my symptoms. I told her that I have had blisters on my mouth a few times when I got tired and they eventually went away each time. She went on to say herpes is cold sores and I should not think of them as two separate things. I ended up not getting tested or getting any medication because she said medication is only for when I have an outbreak. Is this common?
