  1. My initial outbreak was October, 2018 with no other outbreaks since. I still have some but very little nerve pain. I hope you feel better soon! It will get better just takes time for the nerves to heal.
  2. I’m 43 years old and contacted warts at 18. I’ve been married to the same man for 21 years and together almost 25. I gave him GW when we first started dating and he was so accepting. Now, a month ago, I had my first ever genital hsv1 outbreak. Turns out that he is a carrier of hsv1 and didn’t know it. Hang in there...I was so ashamed of myself years ago but found my soul mate. It will all work out for you in the end.
  3. Songbird, same! I was convinced that I had shingles!! Herpes wasn’t even a thought since I’ve been with the same man for 25 years! Imagine my surprise when my doctor said nope, this looks like herpes 😳😳😳🤔!!
  4. I feel your pain. I’ve been married for 21 years, very happily and we have a great sex life. I was recently diagnosed with ghsv1 after an initial outbreak about a month ago. My husband also tested positive for hsv1 and never knew he had it and based on his numbers, he’s had it for a while. We both don’t understand how ive never contracted it before now. I’m having a very hard time resuming sex because I feel so dirty and he feels just terrible about it. I’m hoping with time, it will be easier. Good luck to you, I can’t imagibe having to date while going through this. It’s harf enough going through it happily married.
  5. It is in the genital region and also around my tailbone and the right side of my rear end.
  6. That is exactly how I’ve felt. I hope you feel better soon! Was this after your first outbreak?
  7. Has anyone experienced lasting nerve pain after initial outbreak? I’m going on week 5 of nerve pain and it’s the most annoying thing I’ve ever experienced!
  8. I was just diagnosed last week after having an awful outbreak for the first time ever. I’m 43 years old and have been married to the same man for 21 years (together for 25 years). We have a very solid, committed relationship also. Like yours, mine also too the news very well. What baffles me is that according to my blood test, my IgG level showed that I had just contracted it. My husband is going to be going in for bloodwork to see if he’s a carrier and maybe just gave it to me. I am his only sexual partner ever so I’m not sure how he would be a carrier?!?
