Can you get genital HSV-1 even if you have had cold sores since childhood? I understand you will be immune since your body already developed the anti-bodies for it. I get a cold sore every now and then since I was a kid. I think I was misdiagnosed with GHSV-1 about 13 years ago after I had my first and only OB that I know of all these years. I got a IGG positive test for GHSV-2 a couple months ago. Maybe I've had HSV-2 since the beggining ?
