  1. I would recommend you take the opportunity to meet him in person. He doesnt know you that well so he will bail if you tell him now. BUT if you guys atleast meet first, build some comfort, then it will be easier to disclose and he will see you for more than just a virus. See you for the real you. Disclosing sucks, but its necessary if you want to sleep in peace every night. Just have to get used to the process of disclosure so its becomes less uncomfortable.. Good Luck 🙂
  2. I am writing this in utter confusion and disbelief. I have done my research for many months and it seems everywhere I looked I found the same information on how contracting GHSV2 is typically done: from Genital SKIN to SKIN. While I was asymptomatic (infected but had no clue), a lady friend of mine decided to give me oral. Prior to this, she had never had cold sores nor herpes. I was the only partner she had in 3 years. Only from Oral, she developed a sore above her lip about 60 days later. (2 months) That is when I told her that I had been tested positive. We never had sex so I wasn't in too much of a hurry to disclose. I assume worst case scenario would be that she may have contracted oral HSV2 (super rare 1%) Then as her sore above her lip surfaced, the also stated that she also experienced a genital outbreak as well. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? Can you get GHSV2 from performing oral sex on a H+ male? I was thinking worst case scenario she would get OHSV2. I am so shocked with this news. I cant help it I feel so guilty of passing this to her. She has already forgiven me but I am unable to forgive myself. I can't sleep, I can't focus on anything. I can't believe that I ruined someones life unknowingly. Has anyone else experienced this exact same surprise? All the data I have seen basically is FALSE. YOU CAN GET GENITAL HSV2 BY SIMPLY GIVING SOMEONE A BLOWJOB. You dont need to have vaginal sex to contract it. Thats a scary thought. I wanted to share this experience with the community.
  3. Is it possible to get oral herpes of both strains? My GF has oral hsv1 for many years. Has the antibodies for it. i have genital Hsv2. We are contemplating her giving me oral sex without a condom. We just want to know if it’s possible to have both HSV strains in the same location? In this case, orally. thank you for all your feedback!
  4. Mr. Hopp, Question for you: Since you have been in a relationship for a few years now and married, do you have unprotected sex with your wife now that you are on daily anti-virals? How is it possible to continue a relationship with your monogomous partner without infecting him/her using ONLY antivirals? I am assuming this is what your relationship has manifested to, please correct me if i'm wrong.
  5. Hi Everyone! I am a man who has been diagnosed with HSV2 about a month ago. All the other mental and emotional trauma this has caused me aside, i am mainly worried about my chances of someday having my own family. Since I can never have unprotected sex again without fearing transmission, how will I ever be able to get my future partner pregnant? How do you all who are in the same situation have come to have families, without being infected, or is that too optimistic of a goal? What can I expect on that front in the future planning? I appreciate everyone's input on this. Thank you!
