  1. Thanks for the response. I've only had oral sex once and that was almost nine years ago and the guy had no visible cold sores at the time. I guess I may have had it since then. My partner tested negative via blood test after my positive culture. I will feel horrible if I gave this to him since I had started experiencing symptoms of an outbreak the last time we had intercourse.
  2. I just found out that I have hsv-1 genital herpes. I started getting symptoms two days after my partner and I had intercourse. Because of that, my doctor believed I got it from him. However, he and I have never had oral sex. What is the likelihood that he passed onto me hsv-1 genital to genital? I thought this was very unlikely.
  3. He will be getting tested again in three months. I am nervous about how this will impact our relationship. I'm not ready to have the talk with him yet but I'm nervous that since he tested negative, he will want to end things. Another question, my symptoms were getting better faster when I wasn't taking Valtrex. Since I've been on Valtrex, I haven't had much improvement. Is this normal?
  4. Two days after intercourse with my partner, I started experiencing symptoms. The doctor did a swab test and I tested positive for HSV-2. My partner had a blood test and he tested negative. My doctor said that I more than likely got herpes from my partner because of how quickly after intercourse I got symptoms. If this is true, why didn't he test positive? Also, he got his blood results back within 24 hours. Is that normal? Thanks for your help.
  5. Hi, I am a 32 female who was diagnosed yesterday with herpes and would love someone to talk to. I'm scared, nervous and need someone who understands to talk to. Please message me if interested.
