  1. Hey, so I was recently diagnosed with HSV-1 on my mouth and genitals. I have anxiety, and I’m struggling with paranoia and hypochondria around it. I’m trying to date responsibly, but most of the time I can’t tell if I’m having an outbreak. I very rarely get white cold sores, and I’ve never gotten a cluster. If I see a red bump of any kind I panic and assume it’s herpes. I’m having a very hard time dealing with the stigma and rejection I’ve felt trying to date with herpes, so I obsess over not spreading it. How can you tell when you are and aren’t having an outbreak? How do you deal with the anxiety around it?
  2. Hey, I was diagnosed with Herpes 1 (on my mouth and genitals) about a year ago, and I haven’t been back to the doctor since because I can’t really afford to. I’ve been having some pain that is not entirely new to me, I just wrote it off as other things prior to being diagnosed. It’s been very hard for me to tell over the past year when or if I’m having an outbreak, but I’m very sure I am right now and I wanted to know if this pain was normal. I’m experiencing bad lower back pain, pain up the sides of my neck, headaches, and tenderness of my right testicle. I also have two cold sores around my mouth, but that’s pretty obviously herpes. I’m most worried about the tenderness in my testicle, and it starts to feel sore at the same time that my lower back does. Thank you for reading and any advice is welcome.
