  1. After using the band aid that whole day, I took it off in the afternoon and both white marks (you can see in the picture there are like two distinct spots) were completely gone... so I guess it was something else... weird thing is that it remained the same for almost a week, and in less than 10 hours it was fully gone! Thanks for the advice!
  2. Well, soap is supposed to kill enveloped viruses like herpes, so I guess a good shower with lots of soap over everything should do the trick... thanks!
  3. Thanks Flowerteacher, no pain at all in this probable whitlow... just once I felt like two stings in the tip of the finger, and that was all... no head or mark in the finger. It never even looked like a real blister... so I'm guessing it could be just anything... That's the freaking issue with HSV, you start looking at every little detail in every part of your body for signs... frustrating. I never tried antivirals becasue in the first 2 OB the symptoms were very mild. I started yesterda y with Valtrax for the first time, although I know it is too late. But I'll take it for 3 days just in case.
  4. First, I don't think the new sores on the other side could be syphilis, because those don't sting nor hurt. And if after six weeks, which is the window period for that STI, the result is negative I wouldn't worry at all. Second, on my first OB I got sores in the foreskin and a small one in the head. In my 3rd OB, which got cured a few days ago, I got sores in the shaft, near the groin, so not even close to the original OB, So yes, I think it can be normal that you're getting sores in other places. Don't worry, it's a process and I think it hits each person very differently. Regards!
  5. Is there a way to clean viral shedding just in case there is any viral exposure, before enganing into sex? That would be cool... like I don't know... using alcohol or some other product to clean the genital area, to be on the safe side... has anyone thought of this?
  6. My supposed whitlow looks like this, very mild. The thing is, it’s been in this same state for 5-6 days without any pain, or anything else. And it doesn’t look like the whitlows you see in google searches. Is it possible it is something else? (I’m talking about the 2 whiter marks in the finger, the rest is from the band aids) And the weirdest thing is that I still have a tingling sensation in the genital area, but nothing visible there for over a week, so I don’t even know if can resume having sex! Help!
  7. Hi everyone, So I finally had a test taken and I’m hsv2 positive, and also got Epstein Barr and cytamegalovirus. There is no correlation between these last 2 and hsv2, right? some questions, has anyone been successful not passing hsv2 to their partners without taking antivirals or using condoms? (Because my symptoms are always quite mild) Just by refraining from sex during symptoms or actual outbreaks, can you avoid passing it to your partner? I mean at least in a couple of years situation. I’ve had sex for 6 months or so, and just by doing that nothing happened yet, but I don’t know if I’ll continue to be successful. I recently had an outbreak, and just when it was almost healed, I got a whitlow in my index finger. And with that came some tingling in the genital area. But that area is completely clean. Is it possible to pass it via sex even though It went away very recently in that area? Or should I wait for the withlow to completely pass before having sex again (of course it’s covered) Lastly, how high are the chances of passing hsv2 to my wife without any symptoms via oral sex? Anyone had that experience? thanks you all!!
  8. Thanks Grace, as always and with everyone, you are a marvel. I don’t have any pain or itchiness. In all 3 outbreaks (primary and subsequent) I only had a few blisters. Nothing serious nor super annoying. when you mentioned the topic antiviral cream, which one is it? How to know if it works, or if it’s just the regular healing process? I guess that’s a tougher question, right?
  9. Hi there, is there a best cream to be used for recurrent genital herpes after 2 or 3 outbreaks? I’m on my 3rd I think and I’m trying with acyclovir but I’m not sure if it does anything. Which one is the most effective? Or do they lose efficacy in subsequent outbreaks?
  10. Hi Grace, thanks a lot for your answer. Sorry for the confusion. Stressful times. By glande I meant glans penis, meaning the head of the penis. Maybe a term not widely used. 4 years ago I don't remember having any specific sensation. Just the sores (but again, not blisters), which took a very long time to completely heal. I would say almost a month. Also, I may have been intimate with one night stands around that time. But protected. Could that have been herpes already? Currently, there is very little oozing, and so far one of the blisters seems to have emptied but no scabing. Before these became blisters, I made the mistake of taking azithromycin cause I got scared. I don't know if that might have caused some reaction, or if it is just herpes acting out. But no, I haven't got my sores swabbed. So I have no official confirmation that this is really herpes. Thanks!!
  11. Hi everyone, I'm new here, with some fears and doubts and hopeful you guys can give me some guidance. I recently developed 3 blisters in my penis which are starting to heal after 10 days. But I don't know if this is a primary outbreak, because 4 years ago for about a month I had a very irritated glande, it even had some streaks, like marks, quite red, almost bloody, but no blisters as far as I recall, and not particularly painful. Could that episode 4 years ago had been the primary outbreak? At the time I didn't think of it as a possibility of herpes, but now I don't know anymore. What do you guys think? Thanks a lot!!
