  1. Thank you, I am not planning to go the hormone route. I am using a day/night natural menopause product from Whole Foods, it has Black Kohosh as one of the ingredients. Maybe I'm over stressed!
  2. I would love anyone's feedback on my situation. I have had H for over 20 years, it has been manageable. I had regular outbreaks for many years and eventually started on suppression meds when I met my now husband. After my last child, who is now six, I never returned to suppression, I took Valtrex when I felt an ob coming on. Everything changed about four months ago. I feel like I have been in outbreak mode for months. I have experienced chronic tingling in my thigh, single and multiple outbreaks consistently for four months. I take 1000mg of Valtrex daily but can not seem to move past these. I have had a week here and there where I feel normal but without fail I'm back to tingling and ob's. Other misc. details, I had blood work done in November by my ob/gyn and was told I am menopausal, I do Cross Fit 2-3/week, I eat a fairly healthy diet, no white flour, minimal sugar, wine a few times per week, I eat a small amount of dark chocolate daily and I eat nuts/nut butters. I take probiotics and a a natural menopausal day/night supplement. Anything you can say would be appreciated.
  3. I have has herpes for over 20 years, for the majority of those years, I either manged with suppression meds and has minimal outbreaks or took nothing and dealt with the handful of outbreaks I had a year. I have had two pregnancies that both resulted in c-sections, so no fear of transmission. My husband has always known about my situation and has been supportive and never contracted the virus. Everything has changed in the last six months, I have had prodrome symptoms constantly, some resulting in an outbreaks other times nothing, but pain and tingling in my right thigh. For the last 2 months i have taken 1000mg of Valtrex daily, sometimes more. I had blood work done in November, after discussing missed periods and hot flashes with my ob/gyn. My test results indicated menopause. Has anyone heard of a correlation between menopause and outbreaks? Thoughts on switching to another anti-viral. I am really bummed out and would love any feedback. Thanks!!
