  1. So I am newly single and diagnosed with type 1 genitally. I am taking suppressive meds and have been outbreak free for Almost 2 months! I feel great. I would like to have fun and casually Hook up. Is it wrong to take my meds/use condoms and not disclose? If it's a one night stand and I believe I am completely safe I don't see the Point of disclosing. If it was to be more serious then I obviously would. Any thoughts? PS : should I refrain from guys going down on me? My doctor said if there's No signs of an outbreak or pre-outbreak then I am safe to be Receiving oral sex.
  2. No I did not break out inside. It was all in the perineum area. But it's the entire vagina that burns (labia, clitoris, etc). It's mainly around my clit that hurts. Just feels like someone poured acid. I think it may have been a lubrication issue but it hurts a lot when I pee. :(
  3. Hey guys, So my first herpes outbreak cleared about a week ago. I'm on suppressive meds and I've been taking those For about 5 days. I've been totally healed and feel normal again. Last night my boyfriend and I Attempted to have sex. We couldn't go for more than two minutes because I started to Feel this sore pain and after we stopped I literally felt like someone poured acid On me down there. I was experiencing extreme burning pain but nowhere near where The outbreak occurred. Any ideas on what is going on?
  4. So I finished my antibiotics. Waited a week. Had sex for the first time last night and it burned so bad! I was in SO much pain! Felt like acid got poured on me. Anyone know what this could be?
  5. Serious question folks, I'm in a monogamous relationship. It's fairly new. We have only had sex once and literally the next day I got my First HSV 1 outbreak. I know it didn't come from him. I am fairly certain it came from a guy I was dating A few weeks prior. My current beau and I have only had sex once! It sucks not being able to sleep with him. We are trying to find alternative ways to have fun (blowjobs, above the waist stuff, etc). My doctor put me on suppressive therapy. I have finished my anti virals for the First outbreak and I have been on the Valcyclovir for 3 days. How long should we wait to have sex? My sores have completely healed and fallen Off about three days ago...
  6. Hey everyone. I have HSV 1 genitally. I know a symptom of an outbreak is severe itching, but does anyone here get itchy during the healing process? I broke out for the first time on my perineum area and I am itching like crazy as the sores are healing! They don't hurt anymore but I'm so uncomfortable from itchiness. Any suggestions? I only have one pill left for my anti virals so it's been ten days. Tomorrow I start my suppressive therapy for one year.
  7. Gosh I hope I can keep it down to that! Are you HSV 1 or 2? @nic4897
  8. @nic4897 That's such an awesome way of looking at it! Sometimes I still feel depressed about it but I am so thankful to have such a sweet boyfriend that cares for me no matter what. My first outbreak is almost healed! I feel great again!
  9. Hey everyone I have HSV-1. I was wondering if using products like summers Eve that balance your PH out were safe for use with herpes. Do they trigger outbreaks? I've only used the sensitive skin Type of body wash from them. Does anyone else use them? I probably wouldn't use them during an OB.
  10. @WCSDancer2010 I was swabbed. The doctor did a swab of the blisters and it hurt like hell! The swabs Came back positive for HSV-1. Thanks everyone for the support. It's made this Diagnosis a hell of a lot easier to go through.
  11. Hey everyone, So bear with my long story but I just broke it off with a guy I was dating for two months and yes I had unprotected sex. I began dating this new guy whom I only had sex with once and the next day I began to feel itching and burning in my vaginal perineum Area. I went to the doctors and they told me I had HSV 1 in my genital area, most likely from a cold sore a guy had. I know my new boyfriend didn't infect me because he's never had a cold sore in his life and it literally happened the next day. The doctor believes it was my previous partner that infected me since it was about a month since I had come into contact with the virus. I had a talk with my boyfriend and he is totally supportive of my condition and still wants to take care of me and be with me. At first I was really angry with myself, and how I could have acted so stupid, but then I realized I was part of a majority. Almost 80% of the population has either HSV 1 or 2. So I felt a lot better. My doctor has been awesome, She prescribed me suppressive therapy for one year. I'll be taking Valacylovir for one year to prevent outbreaks. I still do have a few questions unanswered: -what is the likelihood of transmitting the virus to my boyfriend when I'm not having an outbreak? - since I received the virus from a coldsore, I obviously kissed the guy too. Does this mean I will have outbreaks On my face as well? Or just my genitals, since this is where I contracted the virus? I love the support on this forum! I'm on day 6 of medicine and my painful sores Are finally starting to heal! I can't wait for it to go away so I can be intimate with my boyfriend For valentines day! ;)
