  1. @Tiredmommaj I'm about a week into birth control I'll let you know how I do. I had no outbreaks during pregnancy which was amazing . As soon as my vagina healed from delivery they have been non stop for the past year . I'm praying birth control can hold me over until a better medicine is released or someone can help me .
  2. @Tiredmommaj with either of your pregnancies , did you notice monthly / frequent outbreaks after delivery?
  3. @Bloomer I take lauricidin (monolaurin) , lysine, liposomal vitamin c , and valtrex ... honestly supplements don't seem to cut it when it comes to hormonal OBs . Maybe since you're having OBs in pregnancy you won't have any when the baby is here ! I was the complete opposite. Starting to even wonder if I'm in perimenopause, I'm going to be 39 in may . Hang in there love . I pray for a healthy rest of your pregnancy and healthy beautiful delivery! ❤️
  4. Hey! No I did not breastfeed unfortunately. I hope your obs stop . I am so sorry you have to deal with that on top of being pregnant . What trimester are you in? My cycle is now only 25 days and I feel like I'm in a constant OB or have my period . I don't get a break . I'm starting a low dose birth control pill on Sunday I pray it helps . @Bloomer
  5. I hope to find some answers and in answer to your question , no .
  6. Thank you . I'm trying to get an appt with my OB. I'm just not very hopeful they'll help me . Please keep me in your prayers I am suffering.
  7. Please reach out to me if you have overcome post partum outbreaks . I didn't have one OB my whole pregnancy and after I healed from delivering my healthy son vaginally , it's been monthly , sometimes weekly outbreaks . This is taking a major toll on my quality of life . Valtrex is not suppressing it . Nothing works. Someone tell me there's a light at the end of this tunnel.
  8. Thank you Grace ❤️ I haven't had much luck with doctors. They've never been able to help me anymore than this group or a quick internet search. I will try acyclovir instead of valtrex. I just feel like valtrex has always worked for me in the past better than acyclovir. Also I just had bloodwork done checking my iron, thyroid , etc . I am going to make an OB appt to have my hormones checked and speak with them . Thanks again for the encouragement.
  9. Seems like I'm getting OBs every 20 days . I can't take much more . It's not just the OBs but the other symptoms like back pain and extreme fatigue it brings with it. I'm on antivirals lysine and lauricidin. I will admit the one I'm having now is really mild and I would have never even known I was having one but I'm super in tune with my body since having this. I've had hsv2 10 years and it seems like it is back with a vengeance since I've had my son. It is ruining my quality of life and mentally killing me. I wish there was a pill that actually worked. I can't take this anymore . It's affecting my ability to mother in the way I want to.
  10. My obs decreased after 5 years . I lightened up the antiviral load , barely took them and before I knew it I was having another outbreak. But I also have been eating like shit and not staying above the wellness line so it could be that too. I'm just going to stay on it forever to be honest it's worth it the less outbreaks the better I'm getting over one now and it's so annoying it's itching so badly in a place where I can't even scratch :/
  11. It's your nerves . I'm just getting over an ob in that area (perineum) the blisters are almost gone and I still get the terrible itching sensation . It's like an itch u can't reach or scratch , sucks . I use essential oils on mine and bactine . I've kinda been alternating
  12. I've had it over 5 years . Sometimes the outbreak just stops annoying me after the blister opens and sometimes (like right now) it continues to itch. Try Epsom bath and keep taking ur meds. I also use bactine and essential oils.
  13. I have been urinating more than double my usual this past week, yesterday I felt the bump and also the overall feeling of complete shit . I can't remember having frequent urination before . Has anyone else experienced this with hsv2?
  14. Hey Tina... I have had it for 4 and a half years now. I never tied my butt issues into my hsv but now I realize it is all connected. I took a long epsom salt bath and then did nothing the next 2 days and it healed very quickly and almost miraculously disappeared. I know I have to eat better and be more consistent with my meds... and yes the gold bond def helps me too.. i use the medicated baby powder . :)
  15. Mine isn't that bad ... But It's amazing how such a little scratch can cause so much discomfort!!! It's because the perineum is extra sensitive I guess .
  16. Yea thats where mine is . Hey that's good u can laugh about it ! :)
  17. suppression meds obviously don't help me
  18. thank you @WCSDancer2010 and @2Legit2Quit... Took a long bath today with epsom salts. the itching has subsided... the soreness and / irritation to the touch is still very present. hoping that starts to fade with time as well . i kind of want to leave it alone as it isn't a blister anymore or typical lesion in nature ... basically just a small gash/ cut in my perineum . So glad I am having Christmas eve... ugh i hate this disease. n yes I am feeling some self pity right now. like I always do. I just don't want to deal with this anymore. It is such an annoyance. I can't plan vacation... shit I can't even plan a wedding for fear I will be limping bc of the big herpe on my vage. will try to get off the coffee and eat better I guess ... I always take lysine n a multi or try my best to anyway.
  19. Had a small breakout on my perineum . When I wiped the other day I think I broke open the sore(which was unseen by naked eye only knew it was an ob from taking pic down there with my iPhone)Anyway it's been sore and itchy ever since . I've been using bactine for the pain n itch and then gold bond medicated powder which seems to help. After shower today I didn't put anything as I wanted it to heal on its own and be exposed to as much air as possible . It's 428 am and I'm up Bc I was awaken by the horrible itch that I can't scratch by the way Bc of the spot that it's in. Can someone help me ? I've also been taking Epsom salt baths . I don't usually get obs in this spot . There is no blister there as far as I can see anymore just seems like an open scratch . But it itches like hell and is sore to the touch. The bactine eases the itch a little bit. I just wanted to see if there are any other creams / suggestions any of you could offer me . Thanks
  20. Was just wondering if that's something anyone else on here has expericed .
  21. No i guess about 3 a year . I just thought they'd start to slow down at one point. And I'm starting to attribute the joint pain to the virus.
  22. Thank you . I am not due for my period but I am ovulating. Yes I take suppressive meds . But haven't been consistent with them lately. I've had hsv2 since 2011
  23. So I usually get an ob on my right side of my vaginal opening. This time it has decided to attack my perineum... which I believe has happened before and I have just attributed it to an itchy/irritated bottom...well I took a pic of my perineum with my amazing iphone camera and I can see the blister brewing... very hard to see with a mirror but the iphone definitely made it clear . I can see the virus coming up into a blister. I know I have been eating like shit and not keeping up with my meds twice a day.. 2 days ago I broke out in itchy hives on the side of my face which I am starting to realize is a warning of an OB... anyone else get that? Also for last 2 weeks I have had what I thought was arthritis but now I am wondering if it is the virus attacking my joints. I have been waking up in the middle of the night with bad burning knee pain and also some other joints are not feeling normal as well. I really thought this virus would get better with time. I just look over at my bf and I want to tell him I am having an ob but then again I just don't want him to know. I know he fully accepts me but it still doesn't make it easier to bring it up. So my questions are- do perineum obs typically last any longer or shorter than an ob that would occur somewhere else beings it is such a thin layer of skin in such a weird spot? any thing other than doubling up my valcyclovir dose and taking lysine that you suggest. I am pretty bummed that this had to happen right at xmas... my obs are usually 2 weeks , so I am upset about the fact I have to go through xmas feeling this uncomfortable. I wish there was something out there that really took the pain/ itchiness /irritation away while we get through the ob. n my other question is- have you heard of anyone experiencing joint pain before an OB b4 as I have described? Please keep me in your prayers and I will keep you all in mine, as you have always helped me get through these times... I wish we could find a cure for this. I thought I was in the clear till about February .... (I usually get obs every 6 mths August and Feb) I guess not but I will get through this... again. This is now my life. Everytime I get an ob I am just brought right back to a place of shame and disgust... somewhere I just don't want to be. Feeling down. I know, it could be worse.
