  1. Lysine, vitamin b, vitamin d, zinc, vitamin c. Plus a multi vitamin. That's my gaggle off pills!
  2. Hi everyone - have luckily been outbreak free for a while, without meds! However, an outbreak popped up this week. Sometimes my OBs include internal - this occurred with my primary outbreak, but not consistent since then. I was wondering what to do to treat them when they are internal? I've been taking ibuprofen, and meds. But not sure how to treat them otherwise. Anything I can do? They are really causing some discomfort. Thanks!
  3. As a woman my experience is somewhat different but when I'm stressed out my sex drive can drop to non-existent.
  4. Earlier this week I had to wear dress slacks which I find to be irritating anyway. Trying to avoid that in general though.
  5. So, I think I finally know the culprit. Not herpes. My bicycle :( I took up biking to work when I moved. The irritation started when I moved. I haven't been biking in the cold, and I also haven't had the same irritation. The psst two weeks have been beautiful! So I've been biking again. Guess what's back? Yup - the irritation. Ah Crap. Why are vaginas so sensitive?!
  6. I also kept working out. Remember the stress relief from working out plus the immune boost you get will also be an important part of healing! Although I know long runs can be really taxing on your body. Be extra careful to care for yourself after those.
  7. I recently read somewhere that expectations are pre-determined resentments. I've been keeping that thought with me a lot. Not that I think we can't expect anything out of others. Just that we need to be realistic about it or we are setting ourselves up to be unhappy and pissed off.
  8. @WCSDancer2010 - I totally agree with that too! I just like the idea of changing the narrative of the damsel in distress. Herpes does not make me a person who is in need of a boyfriend to make everything better. But I will say, my love life is much more mature because of herpes. I have really learned a lot about vulnerability, openness, and letting go of anxiety and rejection. Here's to herpes!
  9. This may have been posted before and I just missed it, but there's a lot of value in this point of view. Especially for those who are less inclined toward relationships. Or approach them differently. Or anyone, really. Because it's about being a whole person regardless of herpes or boyfriends. https://ellacydawson.wordpress.com/2016/01/24/why-having-a-boyfriend-doesnt-cure-herpes/
  10. Ugh. Feels like another outbreak coming on. Is this typical when getting back into the saddle so to speak? Hoping my body will calm down eventually. I hadn't been sexually active for the past year.
  11. @2Legit2Quit I was wondering if you could occasionally update on your experience with LDN. I'm curious about how it works out for you.
  12. Fickle is exactly what my lady bits are. Especially since hsv. Thanks!
  13. So I don't typically get actual lesions anymore. Just irritation and redness. I've been off antivirals for about a month, and am having some mild irritation. So how long do I wait for any sexual activity? To be clear, we're not having intercourse, but if I feel better tomorrow, how long to wait to fool around? I took meds and expect I'll feel better later today or tomorrow. Not clear what to do without actual sores.
  14. Ah thanks @wcsdancer2010. And the universe. I need to work on my not giving a fuck today.
  15. That Mark Mason article is a great read! And the best relationship advice ever. And I mean all types of relationship. Thanks for sharing :)
