  1. Does anyone have constant rashes because of herpes? My skin becomes bright red on my bottom about once a month. Very irritating!
  2. I'm thinking aloe. I just started getting the redness again in the same area and it feels like it flares up. I talked to someone on medhelp and she's denying its herpes. Well, I beg to differ because once a month I get outbreaks and each time, it flares up ALWAYS on the same spot. So, I am trying aloe for a while and see if it helps. Glad to know I'm not the only one
  3. Hey everyone, I've been busy with life since my diagnosis in November when I first became a member here. Since then, I had to go on therapy and the outbreaks are about once a month now. My only problem, I've been getting are red marks on both sides of my bottom by the underwear line before outbreaks...but I've also noticed how this redness just stays on my skin now. I'm wondering if its from herpes or maybe I'm sitting on the floor too long while I'm on my laptop. Yet, it flares up right when I get an outbreak. I never had this problem before I was tested in November. It doesn't hurt, but annoys me because I want flawless skin instead of red marks on me. Anyone else having this problem?
  4. Hi, yesterday was the itching and today everything is back to normal. I took Valtrex right when I felt the sore in the shower. Thanks! :)
  5. Any ideas to stop the itching of HSV-2? (On third outbreak ... going on therapy cause this is the 3rd one in less than 2 months. CRAZY!)
  6. aww I had a relationship with a guy with genital herpes before. We never had sex and only communicated. I think learning about herpes opened my eyes with this ex during the relationship and it took time to accepting of it after a year. I never did sleep with him because we didn't get to it. Then out of the blue I had hsv2 and I think my current partner gave it to me. Never got any phone calls from any ex partners about them having it. I hope things workout with you.
  7. I believe I got the virus recently because the math doesn't add up to me. I wasn't with anyone for 4 years until this current boyfriend. I don't think he's ever done a blood test for it and has never had any symptoms of the virus... YET I'm getting everything a month after being with him. I don't bring this up with him cause he's accepting in every way, yet I feel annoyed by how I think I got it from him. Maybe I'm wrong. But I was also never told it was recent by the clinic either. I saw the results and it only said positive and I never saw any levels for the test. But in any case, I wish you the best of luck and we're all in this together.
  8. How can a doctor tell its a new exposure? I don't get it
  9. After the last guy I dated, PP said they would give me a blood test. The test is about $100. They can only do a culture for a sore, but they do have blood tests for patients. Go to another PP location!
  10. You'll get through it! I use a new razor every time, since being positive for hsv2. As with towels, I use the towel 2 times and put a new one in the bathroom. I wouldn't let my niece use my towel even though I know she can't get it that way. I just feel safe that way. :)
  11. I have state medical insurance cause I work part-time. This place has their own pharmacy. All medication for me is free. Once I get a full-time job, I won't be able to have this program anymore and I'll get a PPO... any good insurances out there that you know of? Thanks!
  12. I think its different for everyone. My primary outbreak started with a UTI, which was suppose to not be affiliated with herpes...but I believe it somehow cause my virus to flair up. I had a mild temp. throughout the entire week and was miserable. Now to the second outbreak...lots of itching, redness, and 4 sores...compared to the primary outbreak of 1 sore, UTI, and temp.... I guess the pain was VERY mild for the second outbreak compared to the primary outbreak for sure.
  13. My primary outbreak was no where near my butt....second outbreak it was on my butt...sucks! I heard the outbreaks could be anywhere and it doesn't have to be in the same location. I'll test this theory out! LOL Good luck! And with the dating question, I've been with a boyfriend through this entire primary outbreak. Just be honest with anyone you start dating. Most of the time, people don't even care if you have herpes....of what I seem to notice by asking people.
  14. I started itching while exercising (during my period) and had 4 sores right near the bikini line on my butt and another sore near the vaginal opening. Thanks goodness for medication! I wouldn't be able to go anywhere under that condition of so many on my butt. ahh! I have found the Valtrex helps not have the bump becomes a full blister. I hope this doctor I'm going to see at the end of the month will give me Valtrex. Do the other medications work just as well?
  15. Its been a while since I've been on the forum. To update everyone, I've had 2 outbreaks already with another one on the way (possible outbreak, not sure yet). I have a doctor's appointment to talk about suppressive medication therapy. primary breakout started the end of October with a blister that popped on November 3.... another outbreak on November 23... and today I felt a sensation, but I'm going to wait until I see any bump or discharge that I normally get with the outbreaks. This is annoying! Thanks for all the wonderful comments!
