  1. thank you so much! it's very easy to think anything unusual on your skin is herpes after being diagnosed haha
  2. thank you! i probably should get a swab of these other bumps. it would be crazy if i contracted two different things at once, but it is possible
  3. i have ghsv-1. i've had the same outbreak since october. i've tried antivirals and epsom salt baths. i started taking l-lysine today so i'm hoping that will help me with my outbreak. i was wondering if it's normal for an outbreak to last this long that's not on/in the labia? it's weird because the outbreak that was in the labia cleared up very quickly just on antivirals, but the other bumps that are not on the labia (they are higher up) won't seem to go away or get any better. i'm going to continue to try doing all the different things that dancer told me about.
  4. i have ghsv1 and have had the same outbreak since october. i'm still trying to figure out what works best for me. if i were you i would try doing other things besides just taking antivirals. i've been rubbing epsom salts on my sores to see if that will work. but i've also heard about using ammonium alum and taking lysine vitamins. i hope you can get your symptoms under control. Good luck!
  5. i consider myself to have mild symptoms. i was diagnosed in october. initially it was extremely itchy and it only hurt when i wiped or rode my bike. now the bumps are present but they are very small and don't itch or hurt.
  6. ok thank you! maybe my last few bumps that never went away aren't herpes then
  7. thank you! and i was tested with a swab test so i'm sure it was accurate
  8. i think some of them still are fluid filled but most of them are just raised skin
  9. i had my first flare up in october and the itchiness and pain went away on its own without medicine but the bumps were still present so i took valaciclovir for 30 days. that didn't make any of the bumps go away which isn't a big deal because they don't itch or hurt, but i'm going on three months with the same flare up. if valaciclovir didn't help me, is it likely that other antivirals won't work for me either?
  10. this is a beautiful story. i read it the week i was diagnosed and it was the first thing that really helped me. i hope it can help others on here! http://thehairpin.com/2012/04/the-perks-of-herpes
  11. That's so sweet of you! I understand that you are really busy with this site and of course you have a life too haha. It would be awesome if we could find more people interested in meeting up somewhere in this area
