  1. I just left from speaking with quest about their upcoming clinical trial for Gen-003 and its exciting to be apart of such an amazing study. They are looking for individuals to join, if you're interested please contact Laura using the information below. Dear Quest HSV-2 List, We are very excited to share with you the latest update from the Genocea HSV vaccine study. The announcement, released last week, confirmed that 6 months after their last dose of vaccine, study patients who received the optimal dose sustained a viral shedding rate reduction of 58%. The complete press release is available here. As we begin to screen folks for the next program, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to those of you whose efforts and participation have made all of this possible. If you are interested in participating in the GEN-003-003 trial, or have any referrals you’d like to make for this next phase, please contact Laura Holland at 415-353-0800 / laura@questclinical.com Best, Dr. Jay
  2. I've reached out to the office that is working on the trial in my state and they would like to meet with me to possibly be in the next trial. I'm pretty optimistic, I will keep everyone posted if I get any information in regards to the trial.
  3. Someone on here once provided me with the name of the non latex condom she used due to being super sensative. Does anyone have and suggestions. I tried the skyn condoms and they didn't work well for me.
  4. I recently emailed Quest to join a clinical study for HSV2. Ive a attached a porrion of the email for everyone to read. below is the text of the message that was sent out last week to our HSV-2 email list, communicating the preliminary results from the GEN-003-002 study. Best, Laura "Dear Quest HSV email list, We wanted to take a moment to share with you the initial results from the GEN-003-002 trial, which were released on Wednesday. Genocea was very excited to announce a >50% reduction in viral shedding after the 3rd and last dose of vaccine at the optimal dose level. Five out of six 6 dosing groups showed significant reduction in viral shedding. All dose groups also showed significant reduction on clinical outbreaks. Reduction in viral shedding has the potential to reduce both physical discomfort to those living with genital herpes, and the risk of transmission to HSV-negative partners. These results could not have been achieved without the hard work and dedication of our study subjects, to whom we are profoundly grateful. While the study is still in progress and more data forthcoming, this is a very exciting starting point. We look forward to sharing more information with you as it becomes available. See Genocea's press release here: http://ir.genocea.com/releasedetail.cfm?releaseid=914052 Best, Dr Jay & the team at Quest
  5. I took the meds I have and it still took a few days to go away. It never blistered, but I did get irritated down below. All is well now so I guess there's no need to worry. It wasn't too bad just a reminder that I have the virus. Which is a downer in itself.
  6. Its been a while since I've been on here. My symptoms finally went away and I was feeling normal up until last week. I was a bit irritated when I noticed a small bump. It was a little tender to the touch and looked like an ingrown hair but it was in an awckward place. Its not like the text book blister. I'm just curious if this would be considered a second on if there is only one bump? I've been hav2 positive for 8months and I'm some what surprised that I haven had more Ob's since they say the first year is the worst. Im not complaining about it tho..I'm not currently on any antivirals.
  7. @seeker have you used the light for your thinning hair? If so did it help. I just stop taking Valtrex because it made my hair incredibly thin in the front and I had actual spot that just fell out
  8. @lookingforalaska I definately will. I'm hoping it works for me.
  9. Funny you say that my 14yo daughter noticed my thinning edges. I always go to her when I need confirmation of something. Im going to order some today. Thank you @lookingforalaska
  10. @chikitta13 awww man. I'm sorry you're dealing with that.its crazy how everyone experiences side-effects differently if at all
  11. I used the FC2 condom last night and my partner loved it. Im very sensative down below so I was a little nervous but it worked fine. It was easy to put in. I was nervous it was going to go inside, but never did and things got pretty intense. I was a little irritated afterwards but I rinsed myself with water and put some coconut oil on it and was fine. I think I was irritated due not having intercourse for a while. I didn't have any papercut ob like experienced with other non latex condoms
  12. @lookingforalaska thank you. I need it I have a small spot that has no hair by my hairline. I'm freaking out. I'm so scared to go bald.. I where did you get the product from?
  13. I think I'll stay on the meds for a full year. I'm so indecisive. You're both right I'm still in my first year and should continue to let my body build up to fight this thing
  14. @sadpanda maybe I should be try taking a half dose and see how that works for me... I will definitely keep everyone posted
  15. I'm a little over five months into my ghsv2 diagnosis and I finally feel 100% normal. I was so stressed and had a hard time in the beginning I never thought I would be here. I am on daily valtrex 500mg ,but I'm thinking about stopping since I'm no longer in a relationship and don't plan on being in one for a while. I'm a little nervous on how my body will react without the meds. But... I'll never know unless I try. I've had sex and I did notice a small papercut tear but I'm not sure if it's from h or me being dry towards the end. I just want everyone that is having a hard time with your new diagnosis know things will be OK. Just be patient and not let h over come your life. Thank you to @wcsdancer2010 @fitgirl @whitedaises @sadpanda for being supportive and listening to me vent when I would make new discussions on my issues.
  16. @lookingforalaska I just purchased some biotine yesterday. Fingers crossed it helps. Please keep me updated on the hair products and their outcome
  17. I know I've read that any illness that affects your immune system can cause an ob. My question is can it happen that fast? I was OK last night and this am I felt like crap then I felt the onset of irritation.. I would like to hear from others who may have experienced this
  18. @wcsdancer2010 no ma'am. I don't normally get extensions. My hair is in a short style and I'm trying to let it grow out with the helping extensions. But that may not be a good idea at the moment
  19. @ihaveittoo1975 that sounds just like what I'm experiencing. Mine seems to be coming out at the root and breaking off. Im supposed to get some extensions put in my hair today now I'm worried it will pull it out
  20. @whitedaises I had a hard time with the meds at first. I took acyclovir for a little while but it made me feel sick. I didn'take it for a long period of time. I'm going to email my doctor and see what she says. It sucks because my daughter noticed it so that just let me know it must be extremely noticeable.
  21. Well it's definitely happening to me. She and it sucks. I I'm wondering if I'm going to go bald. I have normally have thick hair so this is a bummer.
  22. Since I've been taking antivirals I've noticed the sides of my hair line are getting very thin. I was wondering if anyone else had this as a side effect
  23. I'm definitely going to print it out. That's ridiculous that'd it's not included. That definitely needs to change.
