  1. I need help, guys! I was diagnosed with herpes 4 1/2 years ago. I have never transmitted it and have never really had issues.... until last night. My boyfriend and I have been going through a rough patch and haven't been having sex. Yesterday, I decided to use a toy, knowing that I tend to get yeast infections from them. Well, a couple hours after I was done, I noticed that my righ inner lip was sore. I wasn't surprised because that is where the focus was with the toy. Last night, out of the blue, my boyfriend and I had sex. It hurt and little bit. I woke up this morning and noticed that my right inner lip was swollen and had a white pimple-like sore. It hurts mainly because I've been squeezing it. Now, I dont see the white spot, but my lip is still swollen. I have a gyno appt tomorrow but I'm freaking out to the max! I'm always sooo careful about watching for Obs so to think that I may be having an OB and had sex?! I hate myself! I am hoping that it's just a reaction to the vibrator. I never really have OBs and if I do, it's a bump around the anal area, on the outside of the vulva, and once a bump on the inside of the vulva. I know they can pop up anywhere, but the lip is a weird place for me. It seems like it's in the area of the bartholin gland, so I'm hoping that maybe the toy messed with the gland. I just can't bear the thought of protecting him for so long and us being so careful, and then this happened!
  2. Did any of you guys experience wetness on the tip of your penis as initial symptom of herpes? My boyfriend and I had sex a couple of times during the onset of me having an outbreak without me realizing I was having one. We had sex on the 27th and 30th of August (Saturday and Tuesday) and I notice the bumps on the Wednesday the 31st. I got on Valtrex on the Thursday and took it for 3 days and went to the doctor on Tuesday September 6th. There were no lesions for her to culture by the time I got tp the doctor and I was feeling better. We had sex of the 7th and 8th. He stated on Friday he felt funny down there and this morning he told me that he woke up and he doesn't feel right and the tip of his penis was wet. He said says he doesn't hurt or anything. I told him to get checked today. I'm just curious if this sounds familiar to anyone.
  3. A month ago i got the igg test done. The results were 0.7 for hsv 1 and 0.08 for hsv 2. I figured with being on daily meds, I could assume that I had hsv 1. Day before yesterday, I had bloodwork done again due to what seemed like an outbreak. I was off valtrex for a month amd had only take it for a few days prior to the fest being run again. The results were hsv 1 - 60.05 (something like that) and hsv 2 - 1.91. Wtf?!? How can being meds change the results so drasticall??? Im so devastated and upset. I cant even think straight.
  4. I have posted about my results recently but I never really asked what they mean. I keep making an assumption on my results from the type specific test but I'm not really sure if i know what I'm about. Hsv 1 0.7 Hsv 2 0.08 Both are negative but since i have been on valtrex since my diagnosis 2 years ago, the results are skewed. Would I be correct in saying that i have HSV 1 and not 2? Ita juat driving me crazy because i got off the meds to see what happens and now I'm having an OB. I just thought hsv 1 didnt have many outbreaks. Im just so lost.
  5. I take that back, I have an extremely painful bump between my buttcheeks. :( Seems like I have 2 different issues... and ob and a tear.
  6. That's what I was thinking. And the pain is very localized to one spot. I hate this idea of just not really knowing. I am certain that I don't have HSV 2. The number is too low but the HSV 1 is a possibility. I will probably get bloodwork done in the near future. By the way, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Sometimes a simple response can mean so much by easing my mind.
  7. First, I will say that this post may be TMI, but I just have no where else to turn. I have mentioned before that I was visually diagnosed with GH 2 years ago. It wasn't until last month that I had blood work done to find out which I have. The results were HSV 1 - 0.7 and HSV 2 0.08. Since anything below a 0.9 is negative, then it was all negative. However, I have been on daily meds the whole time so I figure that if I do I have GH, it's HSV 1. I took the opportunity to get off of the meds and have been doing very well without them for the month. My questions revolve around during recurrences with HSV 1. Particularly how do they show up. Basically, I haven't had sex in 8 months. My boyfriend and I had sex a few days and the 3rd time, I bled. After that, i had pain on the right side of the vaginal opening. There are no sores or redness anything. I can't tell if it's an outbreak or just a vaginal tear that needs to heal
  8. I got off cold turkey. I woke up this morning and the redness is gone and only slight itching. Plus, since it is 1 and not 2, I feel I don't need daily meds. My main concern is protecting my partner but 1 sheds so much less than 2.
  9. After being visually diagnosed 2 years ago, I decided to finally get the IGG test done to find out which type I have. When my results came in, HSV 1 was 0.7 and HSV 2 was 0.08. Both are negative however I wasn't thinking about the fact that I am on suppressive therapy so I know that I have HSV 1 just for the simple fact that valtrex causes false negatives and the HSV 1 was so close to being positive. My doctor suggested that I stop the valtrex and I agreed. Its been almost a week and I haven't taken that or my probiotic which I use to keep yeast infections away. Today I noticed that I'm getting itchy and irritated. Would you suggest that I get back on daily meds or ride it out and let my body fight it off?
  10. I have been on daily meds since I was visually diagnosed 2 years ago. How long should I be off of them before I test in order to not get a false negative?
  11. @chargeit2thagame I have to agree with MMissouri that your posts crack me up! It helps to see how there are so many different views and personalities coming together due to one common situation. Thanks for sticking around and keeping us smiling! @D1234 . It is definitely hard dating and disclosing... I'm dealing with how I will do my disclosure right now and I'm pretty much a mess about it, but I have learned that most people are truly accepting of it. We just don't give society enough credit. As for the one night stand, don't feel bad. The risk was low and things happen. Keep your head up. You will be great! :)
  12. Can I go to my famy doctor and get the IGG test done? I've been years ago and had the STD panel done, but not sure that herpes was included now that I see they aren't always on regular screening
  13. I just have to say that I absolutely LOVE this forum. Just for the heck of it, I googled herpes forums and questions just to see what would come up and the amount of negativity and misguided information is RIDICULOUS!! I researched for 10 minutes and instantly reverted back to the depressed person that I was when I found out. I had to come back to this site, read some threads, and remember that I can live a normal life. I can have a great sex life without passing this on. I am not dirty. It just truly breaks my heart to see how uneducated society is on herpes. Thank you to all of you for taking the time to be so supportive and helpful! Y'all touch so many lives in such a great way!!
  14. Thanks everyone! I think I'll look into getting it done. I have had unprotected sex during the past 2 years and have never transmitted it which makes me feel better about the fact that I am learning my body and knowing what to look for but I do agree that knowing which type would help me to better protect my partner.
