Lol, I have rafted the Gauley 3X and it's an amazing day. I remember being at the dam at daybreak with the water shooting out of the middle of it with the steam coming off the river. People were amazing also. New River looks great as well. I just cancelled my Maine trip to the Kennebec but might get up there before the season ends.

Love such an optimistic story. I have heard of that river, but haven't been there. Some of the best closest rivers by me are up in Maine. Also West Virginia. But I can't overstate how great it is to drive up and hangout the night before, getting away from New York with a friend or small group. Making memories is everything.

@2Legit2Quit This is a great story. I have to ask because I love white water rafting. Where did you go?

@kay928 I hear you. I lived the opposite, whole life in big city but I know those towns.

@kay928 You are not alone. Do you have someone outside your close family and friends that you can talk to? I always find it is easier for me to call my friend in Florida or a friend that nobody else knows. Feel safer talking openly with them.

@WCSDancer2010 Thanks, I will see what he comes up with. I went to him because I trust him more than my general doctor for this stuff who looked at the sores in my mouth and told me to gargle with salt water and no oral sex for awhile.

Thanks, @NothingGoodGetsAway I did reach out to the person and received a negative response like, wait, what do you have? Now you probably gave it to me. This was a dating situation, not a relationship and I am hoping she will get tested but I would never even expect her to admit it to me. It's just that when you feel lousy and you read stuff online, you start thinking about it, but most of my friends have told me that symptoms wouldn't arise this quickly and that doesn't mean I'm clean but that this is unrelated to HIV. I ordered the test which will be conclusive regarding HIV and maybeish related to herpes because it was just slightly over 3 weeks. You are correct, the stress and some anxiety are causing some of the problems. My Ex-girlfriend came for a visit and we have been apart for a few years and I had to make excuses not to touch her. She wants to reconnect but I am trying to stall until I understand my status. So, it's like, gotta get rid of these mouth sores, and then why does my back hurt, and flu-like symptoms, and then well even if it's too soon, your last test was in November, remember the food poisoning you got in February, maybe that was really flu...and on. Test results for all will be in next couple of days and going to urologist so he could at least eyeball it. But again, thanks, I went through a panic stretch because she was back and I was like God, now that she's back you have to have the talk and regrets and swearing abstinence and..

Thanks, @WCSDancer2010 . I will check it out. Blood test at 3.5 weeks is early I guess. The ingrown hair like bumps are around my kidney by and back, neck and leg pain.

I am still unsure of my condition. I panicked yesterday and ran to STDCheck.com. Bought their all inclusive package with RNA HIV testing supposedly conclusive within 11 days. I still don't know if I have Herpes or HIV or both. Started as the craziest cold I ever had within 2 days of contact. I was on the plane coming home and had instant congestion and sneezing which lasted for 24 hours. This evolved over the next two weeks to fatigue, sores in mouth and spontaneous sweating. More flu like symptoms with achiness, back and leg pain and probably fever. Now I see a few red spots that look like ingrown hair. I keep thinking I have HIV but my friends argue Herpes.

@WCSDancer2010 Great post, do you recommend any of these to zap the sores in the mouth during an initial OB?

@2Legit2Quit Honestly, I thought that there was a chance I got it in my mouth from oral sex. I did not feel the same tingling that I felt in my mouth. No blisters. The mouth sores arrived a week ago, tingling last Sunday and arrived Monday. Two weeks after the activity. Used Salt water, peroxide and also licorice root tea and the sores are noticeably healed but not gone yet. And started Valacyclovir Friday night. Midnight Friday, I noticed the three spots . So after 48 hours, not worse. I realize this can be something totally different and I'm confident my urologist will identify it. My doc dipped urine while I was there and there was nothing.

Yeah I guess I need to get the results back first. Dr. looked at sores inside lower lip and basically dismissed it. Said it was Herpes Simples, meaning 1, and said this is not genital herpes. Tomorrow I am going to Urologist, this was a visit to by GP.

Sorry, little rattled. I noticed this Fri at midnight and will call tomorrow to meet with a doctor. Ok, first, there are three red patches of skin, one on each side of the groin area and another towards back thigh. Each about the size of a dime. @2Legit2Quit

Last week, I developed some mouth sores and went to the doctor. I explained that I had a recent sexual encounter with someone new. Condom use was for intercourse but there was mutual oral sex. He basically dismissed it as HSV1, told me to gargle with salt water and avoid sexual contact until they are gone. I went back 2 days later and asked if he could prescribe something to speed things up, and he gave me Valacyclovir. That evening, I noticed a couple of red patches on both sides of my inner thigh to crotch area but nothing specifically on genitals. I am assuming this is an outbreak and not a reaction to the drug although that was my original hope. If this is the case, would that mean that when I am clear of an outbreak, the genital area is clear and wearing boxers or even something like compression underwear to cover the infected areas?
