  1. Hey everyome, need some help and advice. I was diagnosed with HSV1 (G) in the beginning of June. I never had a chance to see my sores. I had tried before about a month a half after being diagnosed but it was way to painful to continue. It hurt A LOT the next morning and thoughout the day, but stopped the next day. I was very concerned about getting an OB but didn't want to begin taking the antivirals. I had full sex about a week and a half ago with another positive person. I experienced some pain, not too bad during sex (not to get graphic here, not too much foreplay and no lube). Afterwards, it was quite sore for a few days, then got itchy. Today, I can't be sure but I think I found a sore. Am I too late to take antivirals? When should I have started taking them? Did the friction of sex cause this? What can I do in the future? I am literally beginning to believe never going to be able to have normal sex again, (which logically after reading what you all have written, I know is untrue). I'd love some feedback here, thanks.
  2. @howdidithappen there is also an offshoot app from Okcupid I believe, maybe match called positive singles. This is specifically designed for people who have tested positive for things including herpes. Might want to give it a try. Good luck!
  3. Hi guys, I am a 24 year old female that was diagnosed less than a week ago. I am still reeling from the news. Essentially, this is a lifestyle change and I'm trying to figure out all that it entails. I have so many questions and I would love the opportunity to talk to someone who has been down this road about different options (suppressive therapy or not), having a balanced life (beyond the eating right and exercising, but vitamins and other things to keep stress down), to understanding how I can have a good and healthy sex life. I find myself in the good days and bad days mentality right now and today has been a good day. I want to say thank you to this community, you guys have been a huge help in showing me that life can go on. I don't know what I would have done without this forum to turn to in the odd hours of the night when I can't sleep. So if anyone is out that that is willing to talk, let me know. It would be nice to talk to some people about thsee beginning steps.
