  1. I have had it since January and had multiple outbreaks. The lower abdominal feeling is a type of pressure and it’s one of the symptoms. Quite uncomfortable. Feels like a cramp but worse. Never had vomiting and nausea though
  2. Met this guy online. He seemed nice. Went to comedy club on first date. Comedian made herpes joke. Date was great. Guy is so into me. I bring up the joke and made a discussion. Asked him if he was dating someone and the person was great and disclosed that they had herpes before they ever get intimate, what will be his reaction. He first said he felt like his health will be threatened. And later said if you have herpes, you should date someone with herpes. I was floored. So I told him it was a hypothetical situation and went on to educate him since it appeared that he was a bit ignorant about the topic. He is still so into me and I find it funny how he is going to miss out on an awesome person like me based on his answer to my question. . I am going on a second date already but I will be breaking it off. This goes to show how we should prepare ourselves for rejection and still be very confident in who we are. Herpes doesn't define me. It's his loss and my gain!!
  3. I certainly can't advice you and I will not judge you. You are going to experience a lot of guilty, shame, disbelief , hurt.. just to name a few. It's compounded by your circumstances. However, over time, those emotions will subsidize if you just recognize that you are not defined by your mistakes. And that there is more that you have to offer to this thing called life. Read the disclosure materials and educate yourself so you know how to tell your partner . God be with you
  4. When I found out, I started herpes conversations with friends and got them thinking about how herpes and dating can be difficult and folks need to be more compassionate in their reactions to the disclosure talk. I still haven't told anyone but one person.
  5. I discovered mine last week and I do not know how long I have had it but I think it was stress from a break up and school combined with binge eating chocolate and ice cream to cope that caused my outbreak
  6. I just found out today that I have HSV 2. Single and 29 black female and so sad. My greatest desire to be married and have a family but now it looks like I might not. I am so sad and don't even know how I got it. I live in NJ and will like a support buddy.
