  3. I've been experiencing my first outbreak for the past 2 weeks going on 3 now. I'm noticing the pain/burning is subsiding and I'm itching more which I associate with healing. When I look most of it seems to be clearing up but notice there are no scabs which I read some people scab and others don't. The other thing I'm noticing is my really bad blisters arent healing at all and they are located at the frenulum, labial commissure, and perineal portion of my vagina. It looks like I got skinned in that area. My period is supposed to come this week and with this being my first OB ever, I'm scared. I heard periods can be a trigger and I just want it to heal and go away finally. Has anyone else experienced something like this, only healing partially? How long will this last?
  4. I am a 27yo female that was recently diagnosed with genital herpes still unclear of whether hsv1 or hsv2 but strong possibility its hsv1 as thats what my partner of 4 years had unknowingly til i got diagnosed. My first outbreak was the worst. I couldnt walk, sit, stand, and definitely not pee, oh no peeing was the worst, I cried and screamed trying to pee. I had to take off a whole week from work to get by. My blisters were in the worst spots ever on my vagina and even on my buttocks, and I am still going through it but currently healing. Ever since it happened to me, I researched any and everything that would help and bought it too. I'm on acyclovir but was convinced it wasn't working because the symptoms did not clear fast enough and in time had to learn that's how the virus works. I decided I would share what I felt worked for me to others dealing with their first as well. It's a scary thing and if you are going through anything like I did I hope this helps. Gloves and q-tips: many of the items I used were topical and gloves and q-tips were an easy way to apply to the difficult area with my hands without getting messy. Remember to still wash hands afterwards. Water and Position: If your blisters are in bad spots that it burns when you pee then make sure you drink lots of water. I know that sounds odd but it burns because of the acid in the pee and the less water in your body the more acid in your urine, which means the more it will burn, So drink lots of water. Also, dont sit normally on the toilet, that allows the stream to run right down to the areas that are affected. Instead bend your torso torwards your knees, almost as if you were feeling nauseous and you had to put your head between your legs. I did this by accident because I was in so much pain and noticed that it actually helps. Apple cider Vinegar: Many of the forums I read swore by this method and they were right. Dilute apple cider vinegar in water and apply to the area after you pee. It will cool down the area. What I did was have the diluted ACV in a bowl on the sink in my bathroom that when i had to go, I would dab some toilet tissue in it so my toilet tissues were like ACV wipes. Lidocaine: When you are feeling pain this is a godsend. You can get it at a place like CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid. Its usually under a name for anorectal cream. It will numb the area for about 2 hours. Tea Tree Oil: Its said it has antiviral properties. I like it because it helps with the itching and has a cooling sensation. Dilute it in a carrier oil like almond oil. To go kit: I made myself a to go kit with all these essential items so that I could manage when I was out in public, which was very helpful.
  5. Oh and my husband has oral hsv 1 to be clear.
  6. So I have found out I have genital herpes about 2 weeks ago because I have been dealing with my first outbreak which has been hell. I contracted it from my husband who has oral hsv 1 but conveniently was also cheating on me at the same time I broke out so I found out about that as well. I believe I am hsv 1 as well but not sure exactly as my results came back with false negatives for both types because I am also immunocompromised, so I have to repeat in 4-6 weeks. My questions are 1-If you have hsv 1 genitally then can you have more than one outbreak down there since its not hsv2? 2-If hsv 1 genital spreads to another genital area does it then become hsv 2 or is it still hsv 1? 3-Since I have hsv 1 will i also have it orally? Thanks for your help.
