Got it. So it is possible that a rash above the knee could be a symptom? My doctor told me it's unlikely for it to be that low on my leg.

Hi everyone, I have been driving myself crazy over the last few days about possibly contracting genital HSV 2. I already have genital and oral HSV 1 but have been having unprotected sex with a friend over the past two months and now fear he has given me genital HSV2 because of a bump / rash that appeared above my left knee which was painful and eventually itchy. I went and got tested and came back negative for everything. But the doctor told me I needed to go back and get tested if I think I may have been recently infected with HSV 2. My question is, what are the chances I may be having HSV 2 symptoms and do I need to get retested now?
