  1. Sometimes u get frequent outbreaks to start off, I get bout one a year now after approx 7 yrs. Are u taking any medication?
  2. have u had sores before? just be honest and tell her you didnt know, i tormented myself like that before, but turned out to be thursh. maybe she has it, ask clinic to do swab on the sores that will tell what type u have, i have hsv1 in genital area and only get one sore a year. i take acyclovir and lysine. good luck, i feel for you xx
  3. emily i am 42 single mother and i was diagnosed with hsv1 in the genital area, about 6 years ago, i was devastaed, first outbreak was horrendous, couldnt even pee with out crying, i had to take week off work, i have friends with hsv1 and hsv2, my 2 best friends, my boss, ex partner and doctor, the bonus i see is that no one can see my sores!! but when i see they got a cold sore i tell them i have hsv1 just dont divulge where. i havent a bad outbreak like first one, maybe a few sores and always in same place, now i prob get one a year. in feb this year i started to get tingles and looked into antiviral tablets, i now take aciclovir (6 months only to build immune system up, take for took long and they may not work, thats what doctor said. I also take lynsine (60 days only and will prob take them later in year) and multivits and so far this year i havent had ob it was thrush that was making me tingle !!but i get so paranoid if i get slight tinge, apparently there are certain foods to avoid some say choclate some say alcohol, but i havent found my trigger. and i have never passed hsv1 to anyone. i also use baby powder on the sore as it goes away quicker and dries it out. it will get better and easier to live with and you'll prob be surprised how many people have. almost 1 in 3 my doctor told me. take care xx
  4. mc41, how long after sleeping with her did you get your herpes outbreak?
  5. She can be carrier with no symptoms. I have hsv1 in genital area and fingers crossed never passed it on. When I told one of my pt lovers, he said, what's a few spots between friends!! Bless him
  6. she may have given it to you and if not she may not have caught it from you, i have had hsv1 in the genital area and have never passed it on. how long ago did you sleep with her?
  7. i have hsv1 in the genetial area, my expartner also has hsv1 but on this mouth. i never had protected sex with him as he couldnt recatch it but i believe you can catch both virus. i have had the virus for bout 6 years and when i contracted it was horrendous, almost 30 blisters, i felt sucidal and dirty and thought i would never have sex again.i had to take the week off work, couldnt even pee without crying. touch wood i have never passed it on to a lover, even if i feel a slight twinge i will avoid sex. i sometimes get a single blister once a year and always in the same area even though they say you can get it anywhere in the boxer short area. i have friends with it, my boss and doctor!! both orally and genital. they get oral coldsore and they last 2-3 weeks, my friend wont go out, the small blessing is that noone can c mine, since feb this year i had twinges but no blisters, so i am taking acicolvir (6 month course) and lynsene (60 days) i havent had any tingling since (i think it was thrush as I also got thursh in my mouth from partner. I am happy to say i have not had outbreak this year, If i tell someone i say ive got hvs1 that seems to be more acceptable and is the truth.
