  1. I tested positive for HSV-1 through an IGG test with a number of 57.2 H at my college health center. I asked the PA there and she told me the high numbers probably indicate a recent infection. I've done a lot of research and it seems that the time of infection cannot be determined by a blood test. I am in no way a professional and I don't want to undermine her opinion, but could someone give me some clarity on this?
  2. That's exactly what happened to me. I never knew STI tests left out the herpes test :( Here's an interesting discovery: my thyroid is extremely high as well as my hsv number. Could there be a possible correlation? I don't know if anyone else finds this as interesting as I do, but I'll keep updated.
  3. It's a plausible disgnosis, but there were other discrepancies such as the swab she took from my face labeled as 'genital' plus her complete lack of consolation or aid. I've felt extremely suicidal since my diagnosis and hopefully my primary care physician can help with that too.
  4. I got my lab results printed out today. It was a full CBC and I had some very odd results with other stuff (my cholesterol and thyroid were extremely high and I'm an active, thin college student). At least my primary care physician may be able to clarify things better if these results are completely accurate, but I've had a friend who received wrong results from the clinic so I thought I'd get a second opinion.
  5. I wish there was more research on this to know why antibody levels can get so high. I've done quite a bit of research and I've only seen 2 other results higher than mine. Even if it was a typo, a 5.27 is still positive, but I questioned it for a retest is because I got it done at the clinic in my college. I feel like the doctor there didn't know much about herpes because she gave me my results and hung up without offering much information about treatment or numbers. I still may go to my primary care physician just to double check.
  6. My doctor told me I was HSV1 positive about a week ago and I finally got the nerve to go get the lab results today. My results for HSV1 were 57.20! Why would it be so high? Is this a typo or a mistake? I was tested at the school clinic so I'm not sure they are aware about how strange these numbers are.
