Hi everyone. I am a 25 year old female. I contracted genital herpes type 1 five years ago when I lost my virginity from receiving oral sex. I am currently seeing someone right now and I really like him and I am so scared to tell him that I have herpes. I have not had an outbreak since my initial outbreak 5 years ago. I am just so nervous of being rejected because I really do like this person and I do see us developing into a relationship but I am scared this is going to turn into him rejecting me. I have been rejected once before because I disclosed my herpes status and it definitely did hurt. I know that type 1 genitally is very common and I have read that the transmission rates are very low because it does not like to thrive in the genital region. If anyone can give me any inspiration I would appreciate it. thank you

Can you get whitlow from fingering a person with type 1 genital herpes and no active outbreak ? I was hooking up with this guy last night and I have herpes type 1 on my genitals have had it for 4 years and no active outbreak. Apparently he had a cut on his finger and is now worried about him getting herpetic whitlow from fingering me. What is the likelihood he is going to develop this?

Hi I got genital herpes type 1 from oral sex performed on me. I was wondering if its true that because herpes type 1 is usually oral and forms on lips that its true that when it is on the genitals the transmission rate is much lower? Also, since i am a female who has herpes is it true that transmission from female to male is much lower?

Hi i am 22 years old and i have had genital hsv 1 for 2 and a half years. I have only had my initial outbreak and no outbreaks since. I really like this guy and I want to have sex with him but I am scared I am going to transmit it to him. I have tried taking daily suppressants and they give me absolutely awful migraines and I can't take the migraines. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or who has genital type 1! thank you!

I have tried to take Valaclovir to help reduce my transmission but it gives me terrible headaches. has anyone tried taking acyclovir for suppression?

I am getting bad headaches from valtrex and I was wondering if anyone else who is with a significant other who also does not have herpes does not use daily suppressants?

I have a few questions: -If I was to have sex with a box just vaginally and no oral sex and he wore a condom are the transmission rates high? - I don't take valtrex but I have heard that taking it everyday reduces the risk of transmission a lot? - Also is it true that HSV type 1 transmission is not as prevalent? thank you

Hi everyone, I have herpes type 1 on my genitals. I have only had one initial outbreak and I remember it being big sores on my private area. I have noticed that I always have these little white bumps on my private area. I don't know if they are from shaving or a herpes outbreak. They don't hurt they are just there and very tiny and almost look like little pimples. Does anyone else experience these?
