  1. I know this is an old post...but I am wondering if your constant outbreaks are now under control three years later and if you are still on suppression therapy...I hope this message finds you
  2. Thanks I think the mental health aspect is the toughest part hoping that a vaccine will make everything better and put everyone in remission, it's not the end of the world having the virus in you as long as it can do no harm to you or anyone else, I pray everyday that a vaccine will be available for both types soon
  3. Has the virus really changed your life, I'm trying to put it in prospective that basically it is just like having a cold or being sick for a couple of days out of the year to make myself feel better does that make sense
  4. I've heard it's all about keeping your immune system in tune
  5. thank you for the information...this is all new to me so I am trying to tell myself everything will be ok
  6. I have type 2 but rarely get outbreaks. Although the past 3 months I've had one each month . Manage your stress and your immune system and you'll be fine. Drink lots of water. anything change in your life that suddenly changed the frequency? also, I heard each outbreak is usually milder than previous...is this true?
  7. Hi I planned on going straight to suppressive therapy once I found out, however I took double the pills during the initial outbreak and ran out before 30 days I'm so scared that another outbreak will come and I will not have access to meds since insurance won't cover it until 30 days have gone any thoughts, doctor says to stay off the meds and see how my body does with the virus
  8. I am new to all this but could it be that the higher number means it is a seasoned infection and that you have a lot of beautiful anti bodies that are keeping this virus at bay
  9. Just found out I have genital HSV1, I am told that many people have only one outbreak and then never again, while others have many, I am super scared, can anyone let me know what their experiences have been like?
  10. Does anyone know or have the rates of asymptomatic shedding percentages year by year after infection?
  11. I understand it just reduces shedding, if just figured with the costs and all and the possible kidney and side effects why take it all month if I could reduce it to around one week and use protection it should be OK to not spread, I have type 1 which I've read sheds less anyway
  12. Hello all, question I have is as follows, if I want to stop daily suppression, however want it in my system for sexual events, how many days prior to intercourse should I start the Valtrex, in other words if my negative partner and I plan intercourse monthly would taking daily Valtrex say 2-3 days before intercourse allow enough time so that there is no shedding
