  1. It's been 3 weeks now since my diagnosis, and I've been constipated ever since. I'm usually pretty regular, but now it's every 3 days, and I have to force it. I know, gross, but it's bothering my stomach and making me super uncomfortable. I'm paranoid because my mom died of colon cancer a few years ago and I don't want to take any chances. I've tried stool softeners, Miralax, but nothing. Has anyone else had this? What worked? I found a study, out of yale, I believe, that talked about this, but didn't give any answers. My initial ob is over, and I'm not on daily suppressants. Someone please help me.
  2. I was diagnosed about 2 weeks ago so I'm still trying to figure this all out. I'm still in the middle of my first ob. It's not nearly as painful as it was, thankfully, but I can tell it's not all healed. My question is, is it ok to go swimming in my pool? Will it hurt? My kids don't want to swim without me, but I'm scared that it'll hurt.
  3. Talked to my doctor, we're gonna see how my outbreaks are to see if I need daily or not. But now I have incredible leg nerve pain. From my low back down my legs. What gives? Any good suggestions?
  4. @willow, thanks for the response, it helps. I've been under a crazy about of stress lately so I hope this doesn't last forever. And unfortunately I have a high stress job, and life. I guess I'll just have to see how my body reacts
  5. So I was just told today that I have hsv, still waiting on the pcr, but she put me on acyclovir for my first outbreak, which sucks big time. My question is do I just take them when I have an outbreak or daily after the initial outbreak. She didn't talk a whole lot about what I'm supposed to do and I was too in shock to ask more questions. I'm hoping she'll have more answers when she calls with my results. And when is sex Ok? My partner says he's ok (I'm pretty sure I got it from him. He's asymptomatic and had NO idea) and I know it'll be awhile until we're comfortable having sex again, but when is it safe? I'm afraid it might cause an outbreak later down the road. I feel so lost and don't know what I'm doing anymore
  6. I went to my doctors today to check on my IUD. While she's down there she notices the ulcers. I thought the pain was because I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis the day earlier. But she says they're on the vulva and cervix so it's most likely herpes. My partner noticed what he thought was a zit on the base of his penis last week, but we had sex anyway. Long story short, here I am. I'm still waiting on the pcr results, but being a nurse, I know these things take a few days. She started me on acyclovir. So, with the bv, I have incredible discharge and it's almost 100 degrees out so I'm always damp down there. I read they need help drying out, so how the heck do I do that? I'm trying to manage the pain, but just peeing makes me want to cry. On top of that, I'm pretty sure I have some on my ass. It hurts like hell to poop. Sorry, but I don't know where else to turn. I've told my partner, and he's in disbelief. Says he got checked a few months ago and was clean, but I also read that they don't commonly check for that? Any good information for freaked out newbies would be greatly appreciated.
