  1. I had unprotected oral sex with a HSV1 positive individual last year, shortly after I had flu like symptoms but never any sores. For the past year I’ve been having burning pains in my lip and buttocks that i thought could be related but never any sores. In July I noticed some red marks on my penis, after washing these seem to reduce and disappear so I thought nothing of it, but over the past couple months these red spots have returned and I don’t know if it’s herpes or just dermitis or something. i have had several HSV type blood tests, all negative at 1, 3, 6, 12 months. Any ideas?
  2. Hello, is is it possible to get herpes from shaking the hand of someone who has an oral outbreak? We have a new guy in the office, he has a current cold sore on his lips and I was introduced today with a handshake and was wondering if I should be concerned?
  3. I had unprotected oral, and protected vaginal sex with a new partner and then a couple of days later I developed flu like symptoms, then around a week later had burning/itching in the genital area, pubic and anus but not really the penis. Then a week after that I developed burning/tingling lips, I haven't had any obvious lesions or sores just small like cuts, now reading up on these symptoms it points to herpes. Is it common for symptoms to come on in this way or would you expect them to come at once? Would itching be in multiple areas or be specific? I had these symptoms for quite a few weeks but on passing I have developed new symptoms, I seem to get burning/pain sensations in the buttocks and upper thighs, these sensations on the buttocks tend to be in specific spots on either cheek, is this a symptom of herpes? Possibly affecting the nerves? Some forums online say so, would it affect the buttocks in this way if I've never had any issues there? I still get random burning on the lips still but no sores. I'm really hoping it isn't but think it may be, I've tested negative for stds, the partner does have oral HSV1 as she gets cold sores, she hasn't complained of any issues since the first encounter, we did have protected sex a week later.
  4. Hello, I've posted recently but recent update have occurred and I just don't know what to do.... Posted less than a minute ago Worried about herpes... I had unprotected oral sex with a new partner (partner 1) on 10th June, had no symptoms of any infection. I had unprotected oral sex and inserted the penis into vagina of another new partner (partner 2) on 17th June, few days later I developed a sore throats with swollen glands to the point I was struggling to swallow, this subsided but didn't finally go for a few weeks, I did visit the doctors the week after and he said there was a lot of mucus on the throat but said to see how it goes. Then on the 30th June I had protected sex with partner 1, at the time she had a cold sore so we only had sex and no oral or kissing, however we touched hands etc. A couple of days after this encounter I developed an itch in the anus and pubic hair, the anus got quite red and was sore when wiping but I thought this was just down to poor hygiene as I've had similar before, without the pubic itching, I did look and there were no obvious signs of blisters, there was a bit of blood at one point after wiping. The sore anus has passed but the itchiness of the pubic area and anus, sometimes small burning sensation is still present which is now over 20 days. The itching comes and goes and isn't constant, there are no obvious blisters, or rash. I have also developed burning lips but this may just be down to them drying out and cracking a little, over the last couple weeks but there have been no cold sores. I've visited the GUM and GP, had tests for chlamydia/gonorrhoea/syphillis/HIV for tests after 28 days all coming back negative. When mentioning herpes testing they just shrugged me off saying these aren't typical symptoms of herpes, so now I'm stuck and I've started a previous discussion on blood tests as that seems the only option.
  5. Yes oral took place 2/3 weeks prior to having sex, there where no coldsores present at the time, is it likely for me to contract from that? And are my symptoms that of a herpes breakout? I've also had pain in the anus area, there has been some blood but it's difficult to check for blisters or sores though. Would you expect herpes to affect the anus if there was no activity near there? Only oral sex and protected vaginsl sex? Not sure how the virus works
  6. I recently had sex with a new partner who had a cold sore (Herpes Simplex 1), we did not kiss or perform oral due to this but did have protected sex. Recently I've developed itching around the anus and pubic area of my genitals, it comes and goes in different spots and has been happening for around 1 1/2 weeks, there doesn't seem to be any blisters formed, im also unwell and have swollen glands in the neck and armpit. I'm panicking a little as typing this into Google seems to point me towards herpes. Are my symptoms of itching accurate for herpes? Any help would be appreciated!
