@nic4897 Thank you for sharing Ash's powerful tEDx video. It resonated so strongly with me and what we all have to do someday. I would have never equated having difficult conversations with living in a dark, lonely closet. What a brilliant analogy! This has given me a lot to think about. I need to start having more difficult conversations.

Does eating a lot of peanuts help trigger herpes outbreaks? I consumed quite a few peanuts this past week ,in the form of crunchy peanut butter, and I broke out like there was no tomorrow. Mind you I haven't had a breakout in months. I was just wondering about the correlation or was it just coincidence.

I used to get headaches when I took Valtrex daily. It didn't occur often, maybe once or twice a month. It was never a big problem just annoying. It felt like was a little foggy in the head if that makes sense.

Is the antibody test/Western Blot for HSV 1 or 2 really effective for detecting herpes?

Is there a way to prevent the scarring the occurs from the outbreaks? My two most recent outbreaks have left me severely scarred and the marks do not fade or even out at all. So now I have these pink blotches on my genitals that I want to get rid of. Any suggestions?

I was on suppressive medication for 1 year until my doctor took me off and I was good for a few months until recently. Now I'm having an outbreak every month like clockwork. I'm thinking about having my doctor put me back on suppressive therapy again.
