  1. This is exactly what I seem to have. I have never had an outbreak, just went to the doctor for my annual and she said I have HSV 1. I constantly have aches and pains in my lower buttocks area and tingly itching around my bottom as well. This has been happening for a year now, but still have never had an outbreak. How do I get past this stage? I am terrified to be intimate with anyone because I don't want to irritate what ever is happening. I see no end to this in the foreseeable future?
  2. I think @TeaWithTheQueen is saying she now doesn’t believe that her current bf gave her HSV1 and is wondering if she should inform him of her newly found news. My response is I believe you should. He may not currently be infected, if he isn’t the giver, so knowing you are he has the right to decide for himself on what to do next, especially if he isn’t infected. He has already chosen to stay with you, so chances are he still will but if he isn’t H+ let him have the chance to use protection and take precautions from getting H also.
  3. I was diagnosed back in September 2017 with HSV1. My OBGYN told me it was genital, however I’ve never had an OB (genital or oral). Shortly after being told that I am H+ I started having tell tale symptoms both orally and genitally. I have done A LOT of reading about H since being diagnosed. Some say you can’t get HSV1 both orally and genitally, but others say you can. I’ve read if you have HSV2, you can’t get HSV1. So here’s my questions, can one have both oral and genital H? Does type 2 defend your body from type 1? (I do know that you can still get 2 if you have 1.)
  4. Hi @BlueBerry08. I had the same symptoms, almost constantly, since I was told I’m H+. I’ve only known since early September. I’m not as knowledgeable as most here, but I can speak from my own experience. My symptoms have gotten better, not as frequent and annoying. I do get the occasional tingly, bug crawly feeling. And I don’t take any medications.
  5. @RegularGuy I swear you give some of he most sound, down to earth advice. I long for the day that I can think as reasonably as you about being H+.
  6. Being lied to about anything is never good. If she’s lied about something that could a huge life changer for a person, what else will she lie about? Did she fess up because she was drinking or was she going to tell you anyways? I agree that I don’t believe I’d be able to dismiss the fact that she lied. Precautions can be taken to prevent herpes, although nothing is 100%. You’re in a tough place because of being deceived, but in your heart you’ll know the right move to lake. Good luck!
  7. It is possible that it’s oral HSV, but I’ve never had a cold sore either. My OBGYN made it sound like it was certainly GHSV1 though. And after being diagnosed I had many symptoms down below, but still no outbreak. I wish there was a way to know where the virus is, without the OB happening.
  8. I found out early September I am HSV1 positive. I’ve never had an outbreak or symptoms, but quickly started to have major symptoms soon there after; still no OB. Once being diagnosed I started reading a lot online about the herpes virus and learned more than I had ever expected. Now to the point of this post... as a female I like to be very well groomed down below. Prior to diagnosis I was waxed monthly for about 6 years now. After diagnosis I was terrified to go back and get waxed. I didn’t want my “secret” to be known or have being waxed irritate the virus and make me miraculously have my first OB. Finally I had had enough of the botched, WTF am I doing shaving experience and decided to get waxed. Now after being waxed I feel amazing!! My creepy, crawly, itchy, tingly feelings are gone (could it have been caused by the annoying hair I wasn’t use to?). But most importantly my wax tech had no idea and I am no longer terrified to have her wax me monthly as I have always done! Feeling a touch more positive now than before.
  9. @fonda I think that it’s rather rude and harsh of you to tell @FatalSorrow that he’s over reacting because of oral herpes. If it’s as bad of an OB and as painful as he’s saying it is, then I can completely understand where he’s coming from. Although I don’t know from experience of having any type of OB, oral or genital, I still am so lost and conflicted about having HSV1. I still don’t know if it’s oral or Genital, because without a lesion to swab you can’t tell. However, I do know I have been a mess since being diagnosed. It’s all I think about! First thing in the morning. Every shower. Every restroom break. Every step I take, I wonder, do people know? Can they tell? I know it’s crazy talk, but being taught the stigma Herpes carries, it literally runs through my mind, nonstop! @FatalSorrow I truly hope you are feeling better and that the pain and lesions have lessened, or better yet, gone away completely. Thinking of you!
  10. @HikingGirl what about the “symptoms” down below? The itching, burning, pin pricking feeling?
  11. Although I’m not married, but was for 10 years, and have always tested negative for everything during every exam, including prenatal exams. Back in September I went in for my annual, as I always do, and BAM I am HSV1 positive. I’ve never had an outbreak or any symptoms, but wishing a couple weeks of being told I am H+ I have constant burning and itching. I am completely in the same predicament as you, for when most part. I want to get a second opinion, but really don’t know where to go or who to speak with. Having someone who is a specialist is important to me at this point, but sadly in my small community there isn’t anyone. I am hoping someone will comment on this and help us both with some unanswered questions.
  12. I have GHSV1, and have the same symptom. Almost constant unbearable itching. I’ve never had a breakout, and my doctor won’t give me anything because of that. I started using a daily vitamin. The itching has lessened, but hadn’t gone away entirely. This has been going on since September for me.
  13. @hippyherpy with such a painful first experience of an oral ob, would it be a good idea to go on some sort of medicine to help him? I’ve never had an ob, just diagnosed with GHSV1, so it’s hard for me to give advice on any of that.
  14. First, I’m sorry for everything you’re going through! I do hope things start looking up for you soon. Second, my ex had(has) warts. It didn’t phase me any. I always made him wear protection, and would never go down on him, but otherwise it truly didn’t bother me any. As for advice, I’m sorry I have none. I’m still trying to figure all this out and haven’t stopped stressing about being H+. I know many on these forums say say it’s no big deal, don’t worry about it, it’s just a skin condition, and so on, but I’m not there yet. I’m still sitting at HOLY F*, I HAVE HERPES!! The one STD that was and still is picked out as the most disgusting to have. Idk...(im)patiently waiting for the “eh it’s no big deal” feeling to begin!
  15. Maybe call your OBGYN and see if they can blood test you. I don’t realky know much (close to nothing honestly) about being H+, but I do know when I went to my doctor and had blood drawn my tests came back telling me I’m HSV1. I’ve never had an outbreak or any signs of even having herpes, so I was completely taken back by the news. I still have never had an out break, 3 mths into knowing, but ever since finding out I’m H+ I get constant tingling, pin prickling, itching pain. Good luck!!
