  1. It seems like I’ve been having a mild outbreak between every other week to every three weeks. Beginning symptoms are either lower back pain, headache, fatigue, or the sensitivity in my foot/leg. I thought outbreaks were supposed to be less frequent over time? I have sec regularly when I’m not having an outbreak with my boyfriend. We use condoms. So it seems just me having sex makes me have an outbreak. How do I deal with this?
  2. After an OB does anyone’s scars happen to be small raised bumps like that of a small mole? I don’t know if it’s normal and will I always have these? Will they disappear?
  3. I saw this post after I had read your comment to my post. Thank you for sharing your story. It’s taking me quite some time to actually come on here after joining to read what others have gone through. My boyfriend has been the one to help me through this since we both tested positive and don’t know who gave it to who first(and we don’t hold grudges against the other). And somewhat similar with your story, my boyfriend has had cold sores quite common. I recently just learned that someone with a cold sore can give the other genital herpes if oral sex was preformed. I never knew! It’s definitely a big change to happen and at first it’s like your whole world has flipped and you think you’ll never be the same. Which in a sense I guess that’s true. But it doesn’t define who you are.
  4. @Username My first outbreak was definitely worse. It’s been 4 months in between the two. The symptoms before it were worse and lasted longer. And because the doctor had to get samples of the sores to test for herpes, it made it flare up even more. So this time around, now that’s it’s not being messed with I think it’s healing better. The pain is all the same to me though. And just knowing I have it still isn’t any better. It’s a lot easier to tell when you’ll be having the outbreak because you can recognize the symptoms better.
  5. I haven’t been able to get a refill prescription due to the place being closed over the weekend, holiday, and now weather. Will the outbreak end on its own or do I have to have the prescription? It’s scabbed over and came off so it’s open again, does that mean I’m in the finally stage of healing? Or will it flare up again due to not being on prescription?
  6. My very first outbreak my whole right leg was extremely sensitive. It hurt to the touch and hurt to walk. I’m currently going through second outbreak and only had a small portion on my upper left thigh that felt really sensitive. I also had sharp pain in my lower back on my tailbone(it’s where the virus lays dormant and when ‘woken’ that area is where you first feel pain). As far as I know I don’t think there’s anything to help relieve pain besides your normal pain medicine like ibuprofen. Also taking antiviral prescription for an outbreak could help. Though I’m still learning about HSV.
