I’ve had herpes pretty much the entire time I’ve been with my husband. He had never experienced symptoms and neither had I before we moved in together and I first started exhibiting symptoms. I had a swab test on painful vaginal sores and was diagnosed. 13 years ago. We love and accept and are committed to each other. No, that’s not the title of a C-rated horror flick. If you’re reading this, then you’ve probably Netflixed and chilled ... on a bag of peas. Wow. Where do I start? Is it a “Whodunnit”? Perhaps it’s a film with Oucho Marx. Levity, take me away! All jokes aside, this is my first outbreak (zombie outbreak mind you) and I was just diagnosed a few days ago with genital hsv-1. I’m still freaking out a bit. Let’s just say that less than a week ago I was 100% positive that this demon spawn of an OB (look at me with the lingo!) WAS NOT herrrrpeeeees. Like burpees, yet more hated.

Im recently diagnosed, and have discussed with my boyfriend that im not going to be using any medicine and to be as natural and carefree (while being careful) as I was before. He does that mind that I have it and has been so supportive. He is getting tested as im sure after a year of us being together he has contacted it. I know you can still have kids and such, but when going to the obgyn during your pregnancy do they treat you differently?
