Vaginal tears or outbreaks

Recommended Posts

Hi

Have posted about this before but struggling again. In and LDR and whenever I finally get to see my partner I get a cut at the bottom/entrance of vagina. It gets really sore. The cut just looks red and sore all around it now and once again I'm panicking that this is actually an outbreak and not just a cut.

Can anybody help? I'm feeling pretty low about it. I never used to tear but now I seem to really easily..this is having a really negative impact on my sex life. And if it's not just a tear..its an outbreak triggered by sex every time in the form of a cut. What can we do? Would really appreciate some help and advice. This isnt doing my confidence or our relationship any good at all.

Hi! I'm sorry to hear about your frustration; I'm actually experiencing a similar symptom myself, except my cut is at the top instead of bottom. At first I thought it was a shaving cut from nicking myself with a razor. I first noticed it in January, and a week or two later had a really bad HSV-2 outbreak. I went back in to my doctor after my outbreak cleared and asked about it, as it was still faintly lingering, and my gyno said it may be related to yeast/thrush. She told be to treat it with anti fungal cream and to see if it clears up. As of now, it's gone, but it's difficult to say if it's from the Valtrex or the Monistat cream.

Have you been tested? I think the first thing you should do is get tested and see if it responds to Valtrex. If not, I would try being treated for a yeast infection. Better to know for your peace of mind. I hope that helps!

Thanks for your reply. I've been tested and have HSV1. Found out in July 2018 after severe first outbreak. Have had minor weire symptoms since but nothing major and never sure if just yeast infection as struggled with those previously. Never had the cuts before which is why I'm worried about this as it seems to recur at the entrance to vagjna as soon as I have sex. Went to doctors previously about it ans was told it's just a cut and given steroid cream but just feel uncertain. Am going to the clinic (UK) tomorrow and plan to ask for a swab to see if this is hsv or something else. Fingers crossed I can work it out or find something to help with it at least. Hope you do too xx

Hello so the clinic said it didnt look like h. They swabbed me and everything came back negative. She said I needed to get a moisturiser. I later went to the doctors and was given some cream for eczema. Things improved quickly. She thinks the skin is dry and tender from using a range of creams to try and improve things. I still have a little cut left..its taken a long time to heal but it is doing so. I would suggest going to the doctors when you can. It was reassuring to hear 2 doctors say it didnt seem like h and makes me feel better knowing that if and when it happens again I wont feel like I'm putting my partner at risk. It's also a reminder that we tend to put everything down to h and other things can happen to us too! Hope you manage to get things sorted. I know it's frustrating not being able to work out what's what
