Genital HSV 1

Recommended Posts

It’s actually harder to pass genital HSV-1 to a partner via genital-to-genital sex, due to multiple factors. One being that genita HSV-1 sheds much less. Another being that most people already carry the HSV-1 antibodies since most people have cold sores. It’s still possible to spread, but much less likely than genital HSV-2. You should definitely still disclose, but just give him the facts that it’s unlikely, especially since you’re aware of having herpes so can be aware of any prodrome or outbreaks that might be happening.
