Chronic labia swelling without herpes outbreak?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I am going crazy. I have GHSV1 and had a horrible primary OB. 2 months later I had irritation & swelling that then resolved but I was left with swelling & easily irritated skin. The swelling of the outer labias & irritation has been going on for 2 months now. Nothing I do helps. I have been to the doctor but what they have suggested has not worked. Has anyone ever gone through the same thing?

I have tried so many different 'treatments' but nothing seems to help so I will take any advice I can get!

Sorry your question got buried! Pretty busy these days with our handful of a 3-year-old during a pandemic!) 😅 And I'm so sorry you're going through this @mbarri! Doesn't sound pleasant in the slightest. The good news is that genital HSV-1 does tend to be super chill when it comes to how often and how intense outbreaks tend to be over the long term. It takes on average about a year for most bodies to get used to this new roommate, so just know that behind the scenes your body is working to get things under control. Are you on daily suppressive therapy like acyclovir to help lessen the impact of herpes on your body?
