Burning with no breakout

I have been living with herpes do about 10 years. I rarely have a breakout. Lately I have been having a constant burning on my penis like during a breakout. Seems to be worse after activity. Just wondering if others  are having a similar experience. If so, any suggestions.

Is this burning happening the same area where your outbreaks occur?

Yes it is where I have previously had outbreaks.

Ah, then that is probably prodrome symptoms flaring up. Has anything changed with you health-wise that would impact your immune system? Are you generally healthy? Eat well, sleep well, exercise, keep stress levels down? (in the midst of a pandemic!) 😷  How long has this constant burning been happening?

I have had this problem on and off since my infection. Sexual activity aggravates it. Now it happens more often.
