My partner and I have herpes (HSV 2). Should we use condoms?

Hello I’m new to this, if I have HSV 2 and my partner has it too, should we still use condoms to avoid spreading the virus even more? Will having unprotected sex when someone who have the same type of virus as me, will that cause me to outbreak more?

If both of you have had HSV-2 for at least a year, then the chances of auto-inoculation (spreading it to other parts of your body) are very small. Just avoid sexy time during actual outbreaks of course (but you can still play intimacy games where that area is "off limits") ... Super sexy!
