Herpes concern

I found out I had herpes last June, it was devastating and depressing. I felt like I was worthless and a horrible person. It took me a while to accept the fact that I’m stuck with this but I been doing research here and there on how people can continue to still live a normal and still have an amazing sex life. It’s also been disclosing my status with people because of the stigmas that lingers around it. I haven’t even told my family about it because I feel they would be disappointed and surprised coming from me. 
 

I guess my questions are since I am new to this forum:

- How do I explain this to my family?

- I recently had sex with a partner and we kissed while I didn’t have no symptoms or outbreaks. Now she has it and I feel guilty because I didn’t come forward with her before we kissed. I did tell her the second time we went on a date and she seem fine at first. Now she wants to sue me now. What should I do?
