What home remedies do people have to help my partner with pain of a herpes outbreak?

My partner has been going through her first outbreak. It has been excruciating, to the point of not being able to sit and even having difficulty walking. It is very severe. Is there any remedies that people know of to ease her pain? It’s been three weeks, and while it’s getting better, it’s very slow to clear up. It feels like it will still be weeks before she is better. Is there any baths, topicals etc. that can help her? Help!!!!

Has she been to the doctor? Gotten meds? I know some people don’t like taking them, but they’re a game changer for me. And they shorten the outbreak to just a few days.
However, for the initial outbreak, while she has sores, something that helped me was to mix baking soda and water in a squeeze bottle. After she goes to the bathroom, or even while, she can lightly pour or squirt the liquid on herself. I think the baking soda neutralizes the urine to reduce the pain, but also just helped with the discomfort in general.
It’s hard, but it will get better for her.

My first outbreak sounds severe like hers and the only thing that helped me was ice. It would numb the pain for a bit. I would also but baby powder to keep it dry. Topical creams didn’t help.

Sorry, I have not been on all week. She is angry. Sometimes she has insinuated that she is now stuck with me. I think it’s just the anger. I’m angry too. I’m back and forth between anger and depression. I feel so stupid for letting this happen. It had to be me. There’s no other real possibility. I was single for many years, she was married until we started to date. I will probably never live this down.

Thanks. It has been awful. She thinks she will never be intimate again. She has been in so much pain. I’ve never had a single symptom

I don't know if this is medically recommended but I use tea tree oil on the lesion to dry it up. It seems to dry it up quickly. I know we're not supposed to use essential oils directly on the skin but I don't care. I've used it on my oral herpes too. I dab it on a Kleenex and then apply it to the lesion.
