Itchy post break out

Hi there. I had an outbreak about a month ago and ever since I’m itchy around my vulva and anus. I’m certain it’s not a rash or yeast infection. My only symptoms are itching. Is this normal? If so how long will it last? I’ve not had this happen before. I’ve only had a couple of very mild barely there outbreaks.

Itching after an outbreak can happen, even when the sores are gone. It’s often related to your body’s healing process or lingering nerve irritation from the virus. That said, persistent itching isn’t always herpes-related, so it’s worth checking in with your doctor to rule out other causes (even if it doesn’t feel like a yeast infection or rash).

If it is herpes-related, the itching should subside as your body fully recovers. Stay hydrated, avoid irritants, and try calming measures like a cool compress.
