For several months now, since October- I have had cold sore after cold sore and even several at once.

I don't think it has even been a week straight without another colkd sore.

It isn't as if it is new. I've been putting up with these things since I was a kid.

Anyone else ever have this ongoing hsv1 oral outbreaks for months- and an old infection?

Hey @pecan

That sounds exhausting, and I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Dealing with constant cold sores, especially for months on end, can really wear you down. It’s not unusual for HSV-1 to act up when your immune system is under pressure. Stress, lack of sleep, or even underlying health issues could all be playing a role here.

Have you had a chance to check in with your doctor about suppressive therapy, like daily antivirals? It might help calm things down. Sometimes it’s also about giving your immune system a little extra support—rest, hydration, balanced nutrition—just to help your body manage better. If this pattern is new for you, it’s worth digging into what might be triggering it. Journaling can help track what’s going on when outbreaks happen, whether it’s stress, illness, or something else.

You’re not alone in this, and it’s temporary, even though it feels overwhelming right now. Let your doctor be part of your team in figuring this out, and take it one step at a time. You’ll get back to balance. Keep us updated, okay?
