Not sure if Abreva actually causes problems if you don't have H. It's entirely possible that it could because its a chemical that is meant to dry out the area. I would leave it this time and see if it turns into a blister and if it does, get it swabbed.

Okay. I'll try to leave it alone. I just don't want two huge blisters on both sides of my lip. The stress isn't helping either. :-/

Its very hard to get HSV-2 oral. I heard though if you do have HSV-2 oral that it is horrible and even worse than having it down below.

Actually Victoria, while the original OB *may* be tough, it usually settles down and is the least bothersome in that shedding rate (and therefore OB's) is only 1% of the time (as opposed to 15-30% for HSV2 Genital)

Eek, it's worse? I thought it wouldn't be as bad bc it's not as frequent as down below. Either way I'm gonna see what happens with my lip without abreva. If it decides to pop up there too, well then...I'll deal. I'm starting to feel a little more tenderness down below so I'm like aaahh!! Just want this to pass so I can feel normal again. I'm tired of being scared. Blah! :-/

And honey, there is nothing to be scared about ... remember this is a nuisance skin condition... save being scared for things like a Cancer diagnosis or when you find yourself driving the wrong way down a one way street. ;)

 

Yes, you may have a bad outbreak but most only have one or two "bad" ones before things settle down and you learn to control it better.... I'll take this over Chemo any day

Lol you're right WCS. I guess I shouldn't be this scared. I'm just anxious in general, and this has skyrocketed it to the point where I don't sleep much. Smh. Anyway, I've been taking an anti-oxidant, and vitamins to try and keep my immune system up to par. But I have been feeling kinda crappy lately. I'm guessing this is a symptom too? Fatigue, some body aches, and sore throat.
