Genital herpes - HSV 1

Recommended Posts

I have genital hsv 1. I have been married for 20 years and my husband has oral hsv 1. I was not aware that I could contract hsv1 genitally through oral sex. I just had my first outbreak and it was excruciatingly painful. We are both so disappointed that after 20 years of marriage and faithfulness that we are dealing with this. My question is if my husband can now get outbreaks on his genitals? He has had oral hsv1 since childhood so he has built up antibodies. Thank you for any input.

I'm between clients so this is a very quick reply but the answer is no, he won't get it from you now - he already has the antibodies you now you can play away to your hearts (and bodies!) are content...

Nope. I got hsv 1 too, from oral sex. He is safe down below. Praying I find a man with type 1. It sucks but luckily type 1 is pretty quiet. Speak of the devil I'm right at my 5 months of being diagnosed and haven't broken out since the initial. Many people with this type have only one or two breakout and then never have one again!

Y'all are free to play. He won't get it down there from genital or oral sex. Lucky y'all! Medicine isn't even necessary since you aren't trying to protect him since he has it already. If your outbreaks are frequent or extremely painful you can take it for yourself but in regards to him, you are safe! Heal up and go back to life as normal. Seriously, don't let it change a thing.
