How to prevent another herpes outbreak?

I am beyond confused. I cut out caffeine, soda, sugar, chocolate I take lysine 3 times a day. Take valtrex 2 times a day and drink lots of water. I am getting constant outbreaks. What else can I do and has this happened to anyone else? My doctor thinks I should see infectious disease doctor. Input appreciated...

Your Dr is probably right - you may need to get some other tests to see if something is compromising your immune system. Sometimes people have other bacterial infections that are harder to diagnose, or systemic issues going on.

 

In the meantime, try going commando as much as possible, and take Epsom Salts baths as soon as you feel something starting (a few handfuls of salts dumped right between your legs). Those two things will often help you knock it back pretty quickly.
