How long does it take for herpes test results?

I just had the blood test for both types of H this morning. Anyone know the turnaround time for results? What were your waiting times?

I am from Canada and turn around time is horrific....up to 2 weeks.

 

If you are from the US, it can be anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks depending on lab, etc. Call the lab, they will be able to tell you or I go on the internet look up lab, look up test and then they give you a TAT turn around time....

I'm going to call the office tomorrow and see what they have to say. I so glad I finally did the test. Somehow, it seems like a step toward reclaiming some control over this thing.

Well, it largely depends on the test. For most of the commercially available tests, turnaround time is usually a few days to a week. If you are getting the Western Blot, however, turnaround time is 2-3 weeks.

mine was next evening, type specific blood test. took blood Monday afternoon, results emailed Tuesday evening. that evening sucked by the way.

Thanks, seeker, I just double checked my page on the clinic's site and nothing was in my messages, so I wait. I already know it will be one or the other, but there's a tiny part of me that hopes it will come back negative. Ha-ha, like THAT will happen. In reality, I want to take the knowledge of which kind it is and explain to my husband that now he needs to get tested to see if he has it too.
