tingling/coolness inside vagina, possible outbreak soon?

Recommended Posts

I was diagnosed during my first outbreak a little over three weeks ago. Everything just finished healing and I completed my 10 day dosage of acyclovir as directed by my doctor. It was mostly outside on the inner labia, but there were a few sores on the very inside of the vagina. Tonight I'm feeling a slight but noticeable weird cool/tingling sensation INSIDE my vagina, especially in one spot towards the back. Does this mean I'm about to have another outbreak? :C I also did just have penetrative sex for the first time since my outbreak began and am wondering if that has anything to do with it. Should I be worried? What can I do to help shorten and reduce the possible impending outbreak?

Hello and Welcome!

It's possible you may have an outbreak coming and it's possible it's just a prodrome (sensation without OB) ... but you could still be shedding the virus. And yes, sex cna aggravate the area for awhile when your body is still adjusting to the virus.

I have to ask this ... did your partner know you have H?

As for shortening OB's .... check these links out..... try to keep in some Acyclovir for episodic use ... as soon as you feel a possible OB, start taking it 2x/day for a minimum of 3 days (at least until you figure out if you can get away with less) ... usually if you take the meds within 48 hrs they have the best chance of helping to knock it down. The Epsom Salts baths and blow drier have helped a lot of people ... also I need to add that some spray the area with Hydrogen Peroxide and then allow it to dry and that helps them a lot....
