Herpes outbreak question

Recommended Posts

Every month I seem to have an OB. My Ob consist of usually one or two sores right next to each other. I have asked questions before of how can I heal it faster and I read some comments in where people have said drying it with alcohol. I know is going to sting like a mother $#@% ... but its like when you get a cut you put alcohol to disinfected it and so whenever you shower it wont sting anymore. Is it the same process for these sores ? These sore are very stressing and make me feel like crap and I have been diagnosed with H 5 months ago and it hasn't been any easier. every time I get an OB it lowers my self esteem so down that I just want to be lock in a room and cry day and night. Its really tough when you don't have a friend or anyone who knows what your going through other than the really nice people that are on this site.

By the way Happy Halloween :)

Hi friend. Try manuka honey. I use it and it really helps me. You just apply it directly to the sore. It doesnt burn or sting but relieves the itching/burning and helps dry it out. You can research it but ive found it helpful and I know the feeling at each ob changing your mood but hopefully soon they will decrease in frequency. They say that it can be related to your period so dont know if thats why you get it monthly. A friend of mine also uses this thing called immunity plus. They are herbal drops you take daily. I never used it but she swears it helps her. Hope this helps.

@avigail

I wouldn't try Alcohol ... it's too much for our tender lady bits....

Some people have luck with the honey but that seems like if would be sticky... but it's worth a try. Others here like Hydrogen Peroxide ... dab a little on the area with a Q-tip, wait 5 min or so, then dab dry.

We have a lot of tips on these links. My personal favorite is Ammonium Alum... which WILL sting a lot but it dries it up in 1-2 applications most of the time.

@ dancer, does that alum work on other types of bumps such as molluscum or follicitist ( you spell the damned word on a sunday morning while drinking your first cup of coffee). or even hardened cysts or skin tags? god getting old sucks. but I guess its better than the alternative.

Don't know but you could try it ...

Though for skin tags I've always heard that Oregano Oil is the best:

"Oregano oil contains thymol, arvacrol and p-cymene – three types of phenolic terpenoids components – and these have powerful antibacterial properties. They also contain antimelanomic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative and antiseptic properties. This oil has the potential to quickly take care of skin tags and on average it takes about a month. Create a mixture of four to six drops of coconut oil and two to three drops of oregano oil and apply this directly to your skin tag three times a day. This should dry out the skin tag so that it falls off on its own. Make sure to always use a carrier oil to dilute the oregano oil or else you risk redness and irritation. This oil also must never be used near your eyes."

ok thanks, two issues with that for me. I have a reaction to coconut, kind of like lactose intolerance so not sure how it would react on my skin, ( the smell makes me nauseous hence why I dont go to the beach)and 1 month is a long time. I usually just cut skin tags off if they aren't somewhere tough to get to.
