Having a low moment

Recommended Posts

Just got over a outbreak last week and having another one. What gives? I switched medications from valtrex to Zovirax just last week cause clearly the valtrex wasn't helping. I'm on suppressives and still atleast get an outbreak once a month on my inner thigh. They are very mild but the emotional and mental stress I can't handle anymore. This is month 7. I'm so over this. I hate my ex for giving me this shit.

7 months is still "early" in your H experience. I know it seems like forever but in the grand scheme of your potential life (roughly 4000 weeks total) 28 weeks isn't really *that* long ;)

That said, take it from an old fart. Let go of the hate. It's not serving you and if anything, it's making it easier for the virus to keep coming back. Herpes LOVES stress and angst. So for your own good, let it go.

Also, you say the OB's are mild. What are you doing to treat them besides the anti-virals? I find that once someone starts to feel some sense of "control" around the virus, a lot of the stress lifts ... so if you are not already doing the things in the links below, I suggest that you start trying them now ... I suggest that as SOON as you feel an OB coming on (and if you know what the trigger is, like your period, just do this the day before it would normally start to come up) double up on your meds for 2 days .... and attack it from the outside with some of the ideas in the links like the Epsom Salts baths, tea tree oil, etc. Seeing as they are mild you may manage to knock them down even faster.... which I find helps to get them to be naturally shorter with time as the virus never gets a chance to get a real hold and by attacking it from the outside your system doesn't have to work nearly as hard to get it under control.

Really though, try to focus on what you can do to help your body - learn to listen to it - and let H tell you when you need to focus on you, on reducing your stress, on letting go, whatever... because one thing this virus is "good" for is being a first responder to those times when you really need to do things to take care of YOU ;)

Thank you @WCSDancer2010 they seem to like to come around the week I either ovulate or right after. I become extremely tingly during ovulation. I am guessing the hormonal fluctuations. Also I have been having insomnia the last 2 days including now and also got into a bad argument with my guy friend which we didn't talk for 4 days and I was stressing and overthinking. I ate pretty shitty too today. They usually go away pretty fast as far as actual sores lasting from hours to maybe 2 3 days. You're right it is still early and I am still learning what triggers it.
