Herpes outbreak like paper cuts

Recommended Posts

Last night I decided to jump back on the horse for the first time since my initial ob. Sex was slightly uncomfortable, but nothing painful. The morning after, though, I discovered a super painful paper cut-like opening on the bottom edge of my vagina. Has this happened to anyone before? Also, will tea tree oil help heal it faster? I used tea tree oil on my sores during my initial ob and it was so helpful in drying them out and clearing them up.

That was actually one of my first symptoms after being infected, right there at the bottom of your v opening, was a paper cut. In fact, I had it recurrently for like 5 months after my primary OB.. I suggest water based lube being used and if you're not in suppression, to maybe consider it if this continues to be triggered by sex . if it worked for you the first time, then there's nothing wrong w using it again. I personally don't like the strong smell. Bactine spray will help w it and numb it at the same time, so you might wanna give that ago.

It's not unusual for sex to cause an OB, especially in your first months/year after you get H. And "papercut" lesions are quite normal. Use any of the things we've suggested to soothe and help it heal quickly ... @2Legit2quit's ideas are great ... anything that dries it up (epsom salts baths, going commando, Bactine, blow drying the area, etc) will help it to heal faster. As your body gets better at supressing the virus, and the skin recovers and heals from previous OB's (just because the skin looks "normal" doesn't mean the healing is finished ... the body usually creates a quick fix as it heals, and the skin may "look" normal but it's still healing and it can take a few months to finish healing. That, and the fact that after a break from sex, our skin just needs to "toughen up" a little bit makes for some challenges was we try to "get back on the horse".

So during this time, use plenty of lube, and make mental notes of the lubes/condoms used in case you can see a pattern that may indicate that you have an allergy to something you are using. And for those going bareback, we ladies can have bad reactions to the males fluids too, so if that is a possibility, try condoms a couple times to see if that's the issue. If it is, either Benadryl after sex may help with the reaction, or perhaps just cleaning up well or having him pull out before orgasm may help ... and often over time our bodies adjust to the fluids and you may stop getting the reaction ;)
